How to play 'Wonderful Slippery Thing' Intro by Guthrie Govan Guitar Solo Lesson

Hi guys! Welcome to lesson 52 of Learn That Solo! Today we look at how to play the intro solo from 'Wonderful Slippery Thing' by Guthrie Govan which is off the 'Erotic Cakes' album.
This was a tricky one for me. Lots of weird augmented and diminished arpeggios and nothing incredibly predictable in the shred department, still it's a great piece of music.

i CANNOT for the life of me, get the part in this video at 0:37. I have the notes down, even up to speed, but I cannot get then "locked in" with the recording. Its driving me insane. I am practicing that section alone for 2 to 3 hours a day and i CANNOT get it. Its not even the hardest part in the song! You know that insane little sweep/tap arpeggio he does in the middle of the song? Took me 1 hour to get it! (see my videos) But this part is driving me NUTS! What am I doing wrong?!?!?

FrankoBeaulieu those are 16th notes sextuplets phrased by 4. Try to only play the right hand. I believe it's about 80bpm something like that. Turn on the metronome and try to feel the 16th notes sextuplets and play it only with the right hand. Once you get the feel, you'll manage to play it with the record :) hope it was helpful ! cheers mate !
