Pleasing God is simple yet complex. The sinful part of us just wants to do what we want rather than what God wants. There's many ways to please God yet it's so easy to fall into temptation. Following the 10 commandments, reading your Bible, spending time with God. One way of knowing you're pleasing God is usually your conscience. Yes there's always exceptions but if you know in your heart what is right, even if you're alone, God will be there.

Amen! I love the first thing you said. “It’s simple yet complex.” It’s the mystery of God, that He would even want us and want to be with us and yet we can please and honor Him. And I would just encourage you to settle in your heart how much God loves you. I have struggled with that a lot in the past, but our faith is less about what we do and more about what Jesus did for us. Now we just respond out of right identity of being righteous sons. And when we keep that front and center, our hearts will be sprinkled with His blood and renew our conscience to only put our trust in Him. What a treasure!

I love this!! Throughout my childhood I was taught that we just have to have faith and we have to do all of these good works to please God in order to be saved. Like we have to be good people and obey his law so we can be saved and go to heaven. & part of that is true like yes, we need to be good people and please God and yes, we need to obey his laws, but this KZbin video taught me that actually it works in a completely backwards way. It’s not like we’re here on this earth, and God is far away in heaven, and we just need to have faith that He’s there and we just need to be good people and obey Him and will go to heaven someday. The reality is that God is right here with us all the time. He gave us His grace. He saved every single one of us, and all we have to do is accept it. He gives us faith and through that we love Him so much. He gives us so much joy so we go out and are driven to, through faith, share His word, share His gospel, and obey Him through love, not out of duty or a chore because of fear of going to hell, but because of love. And all my life, I have felt and behaved the other way, but recently God’s been working on me to switch it and see His true nature and it’s just really beautiful.

Thank you so much for this. Because of this message, I had a breakthrough tonight. You made me realize to go back to the basics of our faith. That every true, blind act of surrender to God produces the desires we please. God knows your heart, your sufferings, life, etc. He knows everything. Give it all to him worries, understand HE is God, HE is the only Savior. He will never ask for more than what he has already given us. Ask and you will receive. Very good, well structured exposition on what it takes to please God - saving faith. I especially like your emphasis on action. That is so missing in many Christians' walks. Action includes everything from personal holiness to loving and helping one's neighbor to helping and supporting communities that are being mistreated or otherwise unfairly treated. That last part is missing from too many Christians' priorities but is something that shows true faith and the willingness to sacrifice for others as Jesus sacrified for the world.
