What is with the negative comments? This is good information for people like me who don't already know the answers. Not every video needs to be super in-depth. Keep the videos coming Mark!

The various grades of Novus plastic polish work well too: from heavy removal to nice final polish. Thanks for this.

Does it make sense to apply some clear lack on top to protect it? I also think matter would probably look good just as well, if not better.

You can use Aluminium Varnish when finishing polish.

I use brasso on mine and it does a real good job at shining my platter

The plinth of your AR turntable looks rather glossy. Were there coats of varnishes be applied on? What kind of cleaner do you recommend for cleaning the wood part?

Hi Mark, can you tell me what are the black joint things you use on your test bench for holding the shelves together? And what are you using for the shelving, looks like 2x4's from the photo. Thanks!

are you going to show the restoration of the turntable what do you mean by the feet what's wrong with the feet use some of those little disc wax candles as feet best thing to use
@Blueglow7 жыл бұрын
The original rubber cushions are shot, putting something pretty neat together as they are no longer available.

Everybody is going this the hard way. All of this is unnecessary. Just get Mothers mag and aluminum polish. You can get a beautiful shine in 5 to 10 minutes with just a few paper towels. This is made for engine parts and mag wheels. If the platter is bad you may have to do it twice. This is real easy with little polishing. Mother's is sold at Walmart and auto supply stores for $5.00. Of course it will not take out bad scratches. My Thorens platter looked grey and shined in 10 minutes.

Followed you advice. Just got some Mothers mag polish and it looks great, much easier than Brasso and Simichrome. Thanks!
