Got a Q Crappy budget cars sub £1499 I often compound with a heavy wool pad. This smoothes the panel of contaminants whilst cuts before the polish ( also use BH double speed ) Am I going wrong here speeding up on 15 odd year old marred cars just want velvet smooth panels and cut the clear coat to polish. It does take off the rough contaminants. Better cars I do tar remove and try better. My clay bar never been used mind.

Headlights. Best channel for this is 'Headlight restoration channel'. I sand them back. Use the 3000 trizact. Then polish with headlight polish. I have the UV liquid to finish but i skip this.

Hi Greg it's Derek that car looks amazing with the Polish there's no noise when you put your hand over it 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 to polish your lights you can use toothpaste it does the same job and cheaper

Most cars have rough paint due to decontamination,use a fallout remover before clay barring and most of time you can go straight to machine polishing,clay bars can also pick up the metal fallout fragments and cause more scratching.

Thanks for the comment, but I've been doing this job for over 30 years and I've never scratched a car using a clay bar....if people have scratched a car when using one then they are performing the operation incorrectly.
