Just wanna say thanks so much for this video. It has saved me so much hassle of having to dismantle my entire machine to test the LEDs. I didn't even think to test positive and negative, I just put it all together. I spliced a usb wire and now I can test as I go along using this method. Cheers so much man. Subbed.

This is really helpful. Can I use a wall adapter that isn’t usb instead? As long as it’s 12v?
@Vic_VP2 жыл бұрын
I'd suggest trying a wall adapter with 5v first Depends on the leds it may or may not handle 12v but most do

@@Vic_VP Hey I really appreciate the response. I got laughed off Reddit :). I'm going home to try again, but the first time I had something odd happen. When I directly connected the wall adapter's two wires (It wasn't USB, it was a power supply like what would go into a Roku) the LED lit. But when I soldered on the daisy chain wire harness from GameRoomSolutions, it wouldn't power. Maybe switching to USB will help - can I use any USB (including a USB micro? I have a lot of those)? I'll use your testing method this time.

@@Vic_VP the long yellow cord …I can’t find the site you said it was from. @ 1:20
would it be safe to use a random usb port from my pc and daisy chain 5 led's? It's for my virtual pinball cabinet. Also i have one of those big launch buttons and I think its actually a lamp inside of it and not an led. Would it be safe to try?
@Vic_VP3 жыл бұрын
It should work even with the lamp one. The leds will stay on, where as if you see my vpin vids, using a ledwiz will let you use Doflinx to have the lens turn on at certain times depending on the table

@@Vic_VP thanks. I guess I shouldn't be lazy. I will watch your led wiz video. Independently lighting lights sounds really cool

Yea it's cool, launch ball will blink when ball is in the chute and start button lights up when you have enough coins to start a game

So is it like Christmas lights? If the first one goes they all go?
@Vic_VP3 жыл бұрын
No lol. They are individually wired. Xmas lights use the little bulb to complete a connection (almost like the bulb MUST be there to complete the circuit) These arcade leds do not work that way. If 1 goes out the rest stay on
@johnboydojo3 жыл бұрын
@@Vic_VP ah okay. Looks like I just need replacement bulbs then. Thanks for letting me know! Wasn't sure if it was an issue with it being an incomplete circuit. Cheers man!

@@johnboydojo no sweat bro, but if you have 12 bulbs and they all are out... then you got a wiring issue
@johnboydojo3 жыл бұрын
@@Vic_VP Yeah I think that too although I think it could be just shit bulbs... Thing is it's a prebuilt Cab and I'm not that knowledgeable about these things. 1players stick is lit up and I had one button on that side suddenly light up today. I switched that bulb into another button and that worked but then they all went out again. Need to check the bulbs and see if they're actually dead. Could also be loose wiring though but everything else is lit up and working fine. That button has never lit up before!? Anyway I got new bulbs coming soon so we'll see. I can live without them being lit up though.

No USB plugs only give out 5v 12v you'll need a bigger power supply like a laptop charger
