*** In this video I mention the book "Love is Letting Go of Fear" by Dr. Jampolsky. I do not recommend this title anymore. I have come to discover it's origins in "The Course on Miracles", which is really just baseless and nebulous spiritual philosophy that is not grounded in reality. So, please omit this recommendation. Thanks so much!***
Imaginative Prayer is a spiritual practice where we invite God to use our imagination in order to relate to us Imagination in prayer is a tool to help us encounter and expereince God's presence and God's purposes. Like our dreams, can help us know who God is and who we are.
In this Spiritual Practice Workshop you will learn how to use imaginative prayer to encounter God.

Here are a few more exercises. I suggest recording them on your phone and them playing it back to yourself.
Exercise 2: In the Fire of God
Setting: Imagine a vast northern coniferous forest. In this forest is a rectangular grassy clearing several hundred meters in each direction. In the the middle of this field is a circular alter of eternal fire. The flames are large and the colours of yellow, orange and gold. It is evening, the sky is full of stars int he clearing it is bright as day because of the light of the fire.
Background: Fire is the picture of God's presence and glory. It is a picture of love so strong it purifies and consumes anything that stands in its way. (Exodus 13:21)
Ask:
What are you smelling? Hearing? Seeing?
What do you notice about God's presence as you engage with the fire?
What are you feeling and sensing?
Who else is around the fire with you?
Imagine Jesus inviting you to step into the fire. What are you feeling?
