Hey friends! This video is inspired by one of my favorite books, Learning How to Learn by Barbara Oakley. It’s an amazing resource for anyone looking to improve their learning skills, and the techniques can easily be applied to piano practice! I hope you find this video helpful.

Excellent video. I’ve used many of these techniques, but have not tried the ‘picture’ one. I will try it. A technique that I’ve used is playing passages with my eyes closed (usually very slowly). It works well, especially well for difficult passages. I’ve also had students do it with good results. Sometimes they even play it better with their eyes closed!

@@georgiannapappas1938 Thank you! And thanks for sharing and reminding me about the closed eyes technique, it is definitely a very useful one. I need to practice playing with closed eyes again! 👌🏻

I tried the “Active recall” technique yesterday and it already did wonders within 10min. of practice. Do try it out! 😍

Excellent advice. Thank you. P.S. The pronunciation of ‘retrieve’ is ‘re-TREE-ve’.

@@juliangurr8669 thank you! 🙌 Yes, I’ve noticed the “retrieve” mistake when editing, so added a little comment to correct myself. 🙈
