Dear Fr Chris; you are a very special priest endowed with the gift of teaching. I don't want to lose you to any of the illnesses that you said you suffer from. When I offer my fasting to God for priests on Wednesday and Friday I will now expand the offering from priests in general to you specifically. God bless you Fr Chris. I love you and what you do. From a hermit in Toronto Canada.

You’ll like this one! It was a desperate time in my life and marriage. We hadn’t been to Mass in years. Our son had been destroyed by a false priest who had molested him. The recent memory of seeing our daughter die haunted me. My husband and I constantly argued. Worst of all, I didn’t know anyone who understood. I wanted to die. A friend commented one day I did know someone who understood. Someone who had not only lost her son, but saw him tortured and killed. It was Mary, of course. That reminder hit me like a ton of bricks. I suddenly realized we had been wrong to leave the Church. Attending any church had been very traumatic for me. I had left several sobbing and didn’t feel I could attend any alone. I did have a running conversation with God, but it wasn’t enough. I avoided God when I needed him most. I realized I needed to connect through the Holy Mother. When you’re hurting, it’s easier to go to your mother than your father. I started praying the Rosary and the Divine Mercy prayer. This led to a desire to learn more about the Faith, such as through Divine Mercy and Fr. Ripperger videos. My husband started watching the videos with me and we started talking more instead of arguing. When I learned how versatile the Rosary can be, I began pleading the Blood of Jesus before each decade, praying for my daughter’s soul and asking for my husband and son to be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The next week, my husband started praying a daily Rosary, too. A couple days after that, he came home with new Rosaries, scapulars and medals. The following week he went to morning confession and Mass. He took me later that day as well. Having learned from Catholic YT videos that his position as husband/father gave him spiritual authority over our family, he increased his Rosary praying. I not only overheard him praying to be a better man, husband, and father, I heard him praying for me, our daughter’s soul, asking God to help us stop arguing, and pleading the Blood of Jesus for our son. I can’t adequately express how much that meant to me. We started going to weekly Mass together. He started attending daily Masses and working on consecration to Jesus through Mary. The closer we got to God in prayer, the less we argued. Connecting to Jesus through Mary myself gave me a renewed desire to live and serve God. More than that, focusing on the suffering of Jesus and his mother in the Rosary healed my broken spirit (as it says in the Bible, “and with his stripes we are healed” Isaiah 53:5). I realized one day that I felt happy despite problems in the world, and no longer felt broken. Having achieved so much so fast, I became impatient to see changes in our son. My husband took the lead saying we needed to be patient because God would answer in his own time and way. Considering the prayer warrior he had become, I knew it must be true. I do mean prayer warrior because his Rosaries had evolved. I heard him interjecting a series of prayers between decades, creating a perfect blending of recited prayers, his own heartfelt words and meditation. He started daily Bible reading and study. He began blessing our son every time he visited and talking to him about God’s love. He got our son to wear a scapular and carry a Rosary with him everywhere. Our son started asking religious questions soon after, asking to pray with us sometimes and even to consider returning to confession and Mass. Our family, which had been broken and failing, was fixed by Our Lady’s Rosary. The fast transformation has been nothing less than incredible. What else can I say except prayer works!

I am awoken for prayer every morning. Sometime 2-3 am sometimes 4:30 regardless I roll out of bed and pray. I am literally called to prayer. I have heard my name called. Heard the blessed mother say good morning or wake to the smell of flowers. It is my favorite time of day and I loose myself in prayer in meditation and writing sometimes for 3-4 hours at a time. Prayer is like food for my spirit I can not get enough🙏

Becomes addictive as I dont want to fall asleep to keep praying or reading the Bible. I cant stay awake during the day as a result. But I love being close to Mary archangels Michael, Raphael, Gabriel. Immaculate Heart of Mary I consecrate my son and family to your heart. Pls keep them protected. Amen

When I think about when the seed was planted for me to come into the church it was a Filipino Lady when I was a child. My mom was protestant and I didn't understand the relationship with Mary that Catholics had. She told me, "We believe that Mary is the mother of Jesus through and through." Meaning that she wasn't less his mother after he died. It was so profound yet simple enough for a child to understand. A lot of others nourished that seed, but when I trace it back, it was that conversation the the love of the Blessed Virgin was planted in me and even in the most sinful times or my life, I always felt her there trying to show me the way back to christ. My mom is Catholic now too. I'm half Filipino myself, but my dad wasn't the best Catholic, but the Filipinos still got me through the church doors. ;)

@@Happy-ft8ie thank you so much for taking the time to say that. I've been a little lost professionally, but have a degree in writing. I started a project about the lack of fathers in our society and how it spiritually shuts many of us down to the idea of a father's love. And how God in his infinite wisdom, humility, and love, gave us Mama Mary to lead our a society like ours back to him. I've been asking for guidance and you're the second person to say something like this in the last few days. I told Mama to please hit me over the head with whatever I should do because I'm very dense and wouldn't get subtle messages. I'm tired of trying to do what I want with my life and messing up. I told Mama if she'd show me, I'd like to submit to whatever God wants. I consecrated myself to her and St. Joseph on May 13th. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'm going to keep rolling with this project and see what happens!

@@Happy-ft8ie I will certainly keep you in prayer. I understand with the father part. I have friends who are great people, but just don't have the same life experience and can't understand why Catholics feel we need Mary. I listen to a lot of Christian religious, even non-Catholics sometimes and it just breaks my heart when I hear the very misplaced views they have about Mama. I didn't quite understand what a lot of reparation of the first five Saturdays was about until I realized that some of my friends even felt that I'm under "demonic" influence in my devotion to Mama. It's like they've actively been taught this animosity towards her and it's heartbreaking. We live in a world that desperately needs Mama. I'm very grateful for Fr. Chris's "Explaining the Faith". I've played/sent some his talks and Fr. Calloway's talks to friends and I think they're pretty accessible to non-Catholics and definitely a good refresher to me.

Father after listening to your teachings, I started praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Rosary. I and my family are in financial need. We have got financial commitments to meet. Unpaid loans and ventured into financial dangers. Facing mental torture due to this. Please pray for us. I believe Jesus will bring me out of this.

"Do not be afraid." Many claim that this verse appears in the Bible 365 times. I haven't checked that for a fact yet but I don't think it's necessary. This promise from our Lord has sustained me and my family for at least 10 years now. We've gone through a lot of crises, too, mostly financial and clinging to God's divine mercy and providence has become our sole source of peace. Of course, we do what is necessary and leave everything else in God's hands. The secret to peace and a stress-free life is trusting Him completely and doing His will. My trust in Him has been tested once before in 2011 and I failed. I asked for forgiveness for my lack of faith and trust in Him and begged for the grace of increased faith. From then on, every time I face challenges, I pray for guidance and help and just do whatever I can do with my capabilities and resources and leave everything else to God. He never fails. I also once questioned God why challenges and difficulties keep coming even though I've been trying my best to live according to His will and the answer came to me through Mother Angelica, in one of the re-runs of her show. I learned that these difficulties are meant to increase and strenghten my faith in God as I am always asking for that grace. Now, nothing troubles me and I sleep in peace because I know that God is always watching over me and loves me and His mercy always overflows. May God bless you and grant you peace of mind and heart. Do not be afraid...

"St.Teresa of Jesus - Spending time alone with the One who loves us, alone." Learning to begin mental prayer is the most difficult work,(detachment, humility love) and not forgetting the temptations by the devil to break us, distraction to stop us praying.. so many! But, once we see and taste God, you will never want to stop drinking the Living Water. God be with all of us. 🙏🙏🙏😍

Thank you so much Fr Chris! I saw this many times but something made me move on. I had the desire to affirm and know well Carmelite Mental prayer and that was the reason I passed your talk. I pray the Chaplet and Rosary daily and have the desire to teach others how to do Carmelite mental prayer. Sometimes before, I wondered how I can be a Marian Helper here in my area. We have the Rosary Group, many Divine Mercy Apostolates/Groups, Third Order of Mary, Little Sisters of the Poor/Jeanne Jugan Helpers, children of Fatima Marian Helpers, Divine Will Apostolate and Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites of which I am a member. Two desires I have which I daily place before Jesus through Mary are: to teach Carmelite Mental Prayer and to be a MARIAN HELPER by helping others to love Mary thru the Rosary. Listening to the talk was like"yea, I was inspired to listen to Fr Chris for my answer was there. Yes! The answer definitely but I needed a written transcript where I could translate to the local language of the majority. There are many inspirational talks but always in English. Fr Chris your talk is the response to my desire but in English which limits the scope of beneficiaries. My target is the majority not selected English speaking/understanding few hence the interest to translate. I leave this with you Fr Chris. To everyone, please remember me, my desires and inspirations in your "S" of "ACTS." With a grateful heart, may God continue to bless you Fr Chris, and all Marian Helpers at the Shrine.
