I had no idea there was coating on the nib, it explains why I've had trouble with mine. THANK YOU!!!

Hi Ashley...this was the first video of yours that I came across after searching for long for the problem I was facing with my dip pens ...the broader nibs weren't working and after washing it for the first time it started working but at intervals...then I washed it again and after little practice it started working...thanks a lot for helping 😊😊💕💕💕💕💕💕

Thanks, Ashley! Some people say to get the oil off the nib by pushing it into a raw potato, but I've never tried that. 🤔

The raw potato method works great!

I've also heard of the potato method, but never tried it myself! I think it was originally used to remove rust from steel nibs, but if it works for removing the oil too I would love to know how it goes! - Ashley

Save silica humidity control sacks or capsules and throw them into the container you store you nibs in, especially if you are going to put them away for a bit.

Hi Ashley, what is the brand of your beautifull red ink? Thank you for this video.

I've heard using a lighter to "burn" the oil off the nib works too. What are your thoughts on that method? I've never tried it because I don't want to ruin my nibs lol

What can I do when my nib holds the ink fine, except right after a dip, it leaves too much of ink on paper, but not nearly as much as you showed here and then it writes alright
@Yoseka10 ай бұрын
I think you may just need to run off the excess ink from the initial dip on the edge of the bottle as you would when you dip a spoon into some liquid to prevent it from dripping!

Can you burn it instead?

Storing the dried nib in mineral oil jar sounds plausible.
