We were always taught to actually allow the paint to touch the glass by 1-2 millimetres around the frame, to form a seal between the glass and the frame to prevent rain ingress.

I know it's really simple, but when you're a newbie like me, your videos mean the world. I just want to know if I'm doing the right thing. Thank you.

Can you do all the work (prepare and pain wooden window frames/sills) from outside the window only and not accessing the inside of the windows? Thanks!

What coarseness of sandpaper would you use?

Good short video. But.. Somebody already mentioned masking tape, whether that's a real issue or not, I don't know. Seems like a step was missed -> Wiping down dirt that a brush can't do. Other basic info like how to stop paint lid from sticking to the tin would help. How to pry open a stuck lid. Like probably not using the nail pulling end of a hammer to do it. Because it pulls out the lip making it worse.

You a wire coathanger. Cut the piece that will lay over your open paint tin. When ever you are brushing of excess do this over the coathanger. it will drip back into the tin. Not the rim.
