How to prepare data before importing it into HubSpot?

Hi am brand new to HubSpot and not really sure where to start I have a spreadsheet of leads, which have our Sales Team allocated to each lead. I then need to upload this data in to HubSpot, for a deal to be created and associated with the correct sales person. Otherwise I will have to upload the data, create a deal and then allocate a sales person. I would. Like it to auto do this. Is it possible?

Julie, you simply add a column to add data about contact, company, ticket, and deal owners. I advise you to check HubSpot's knowledgebase article Set up your import files (knowledge.hubspot.com/crm-setup/set-up-your-import-file) where you will also find sample import files.

Is there any API Integration available ? creating and importing csv is not the top solution.

Harpal, you can create a custom API or in HubSpot language Private app to connect HubSpot and your current CRM or any other tool. HubSpot also integrates with some CRMs very easily. If you have your contacts in Mailchimp, you can also integrate it with HubSpot with a few clicks, but there can be some limitations regarding which data will be synced to HubSpot. If there is no simple integration between HubSpot and the tools you currently use, you can still import data with CSV or XMLX files.
