I'm a Bsc first year mathematics student and I have recently settled down that I will give UPSC after my graduation but the huge syllabus is continuously intimidating me . I couldn't find out any way to prepare for UPSC ( like :- how to study? , What to study? , What not to study? Etc etc). As far I'm starting from the initial point (at the level of ziro) where I'm totally beginner and know nothing about Polity and Economy. I used to choose Hindu newspaper to read regularly in the lockdown period and try to make notes from it but I think it would be more difficult to prepare for UPSC when the college will reopen .☹️☹️☹️

Lol are you serious about making notes out of newspaper at this stage atleast ruminate before wasting your time doing unnecessary stuff ,UPSC will ask around 1 year current affairs not more than that , reading newspaper for the sake of updating yourself with current affairs is good but making notes as of now is inane !!

Sir, but does the interview board discriminates on the basis of your background, which college you went? Bcoz I have seen most of toppers from DU or top colleges..

No they don’t, these all are just speculations. They check your competence, confidence, how you tackle situation. They check how well you understand India and Indian issues, your attitude towards those issues. Just by glance they can tell, are you trouble maker or problem solver. They are not bothered about your background or knowledge since it has been already checked in GS Pre and mains. So one should not go to interview with such false and negative mindset.
