wow! beautiful! yki test is something really horriffic but you made it so nicely. Big hand to you! Only one thing you need to fix is the correct sign of greater which is >. Thanks for the video. I could have used this before the test since it all came as a big surprise. My only difference of opinion is that there are so many topics in the speaking and writing which you could be given. So you could write 50 essays and still get different topics in the test. However I think your idea is still the best option available.

Do you think that grammar means a lot at this exam? Like if you get the point of the text/audio and your answer is correct, but the grammar isn’t?

Of course it matters, but not that much, you are right. The main thing is that you get the point and write the answer, then May be instead of 2 points you will have 1 if your grammar is not correct.

Incorrect grammar can change the meaning or make meaning unclear. So it can make in difficult to be sure if text or audio has been understood correctly. It can alternatively be incorrect in that sense that it's not part of the standardized Finnish, kirjakieli. It could be an expression of some dialect or slang, which can be perfectly understood. It is also possible to break grammar for emphasis, adding some additional meaning to the sentence. All this is of course context sensitive. Speaking and writing Finnish tend to have different expectations in different contexts. Social media and short text messages have added another style of language. The Finnish YKI test is intended to measure mostly fairly standard language without testing different slangs, dialects or accents. Known this standardized language form gives a foundation to understand other language variations, even partly broken Finnish.

Areenan lisäksi ruutu ja mtv tarjoaa suomeksi puhuttua materiaalia, tekstitystä kannattaa käyttää jos vain mahdollista.. Äänikirjat on myös hyvä vaihtoehto, rauhallista ja selkeää puhetta, tosin ne on yleensä maksullisia. Suomen kielen täydellinen oppiminen on vaikeaa mutta pääasia on että uskaltaa puhua eikä jännitä tai häpeä sitä että meneekö lausuminen väärin, sillä ei ole väliä. Lisäksi monet kyllä ymmärtää mitä yrittää sanoa tai tarkoittaa vaikka sanoisi vain muutaman sanan. Lisäksi on erilaisia kääntäjiä ja aplikaatioita puhelimeen joista on apua. Suomen kieli on niitä harvoja joissa sanat lausutaan ja kirjoitetaan samalla tavalla.
