Thanks for this...I love & respect Timmy for what He has always brought to this Dance Music seen. In My opinion He is one of the masters at being a Dance Music Dj'. He's always been a very deep & spiritual Brother. Always searching for something deeper in meaning when it came to his approach of playing & listening. Its not very difficult to make people dance off of a song or two...its pure mechanics, thats it. But to connect is some that only a few Dj's actually accomplish. And those are the ones who have a large following for generations after generations. It takes a certain level of trust in who's before You & Your abilities as a Dj. And in order to trust Your audience You have to get to know them, as is the case in any HUMAN encounter. This takes TIME, to get to know some one. So I understand & overstand what Timmy is saying and would hope that the Younger Dj's have watch, learn, and take there time to connect as well.

I've been DJing on and off since 81, Timmy is one of the DJ's I can say come from my era, he has this sound that is his trademark, strong bass, and a groove that gets in your spirit, back in the day, Boyd Jarvis, was one producer that started that bassy groove and Timmy has continued that feeling, I love it, I also play that AFROSOUL sound,

Yup, 26th Street early-mid 80s were his best mixes by far, with Boyd. I saw him at Fort Greene summer 2018; nothing like this, which is disturbing and sad. Good to see him opening up in ways I’m not used to seeing, sharing some of the acquired knowledge for posterity.

Wow this is disturbing..I knew Timmy since the 26th Street days, early 80s WBLS which was without a doubt his best mixes, those in the early-mid 80s when the great Boyd Jarvis was part of the sets. Hadn’t seen him for a long time, until summer 2018 at Fort Greene-he’d lost weight due to some type of cancer scare, but seemed all right. He looks in big trouble here, wasn’t expecting this. The silver lining’s that he’s opening up here in ways I haven’t previously seen, in a friendly way, sharing some of the years of acquired knowledge.
