Hi. I don't know what to do with mine now. I bought one of those little packaged rose bush bundles about 4 years ago from Menards and didn't expect much. Area where my flowerbed is gets over 6 feet of snow, most of it packed from snowblower, and it has survived every year and this spring produced about 14 roses. I have never cut back anything or protected it, except for cutting flower off for vase, and now, since it's getting so big (wider and fuller), I don't know what I should cut away or how to cover it. I could try some sort of box built from wood since not much else would hold up to the weight of 6 solid, not fluffy, feet of snow. Any suggestions? How far down should I cut the branches? Anything you suggest will be greatly appreciated. I guess I've been really lucky these last few winters and now that the bush looks so pretty I'd hate to lose it now. The soil isn't even that deep in the box since it's built over cement.

You can trim it down to a size you think is good as long as you don't go all the way down down. Also, once you trim it down, you can slowly dig your way around the rose bush in such a way that you expose the roots once you see where all the roots can cut at a good length all the big roots and replant it somewhere else

@@joseluisperezjr3285 Thank you. I ended up cutting it down far enough to put a thick, sturdy 5 gallon pail over. I have nowhere else to replant it. I'll let you know how that worked out in about 5-6 months. 😊
