Thank you so much this was very helpful as I keep getting the stitch and this is the only video that explains and shows me how to prevent and deal with the stitch ❤

I also used to get these all the time! Yoga really helped me to pay better attention to my breathing patterns, and now I can't remember the last time I had to deal with a side stitch. This is a great topic. Thanks for sharing!

I went for a run on vacation at twice my elevation. It was just an easy run so I didn’t even think about it. I got the worst side stitch! Did these things, it helped.

Thanks for the tip! I used to have these but don't anymore. My biggest issue when I was running long distance was my calf muscles tend to cramp up pretty badly. I remember doing my first half marathon and at the last mile, my calves where cramping and was so hard for me to get to that finish line. I don't have that problem anymore. I was drinking fluids, eating bananas, using gels, but the cramping didn't go away. What seemed to help me now that I am able to do long distance without cramps is more training (i didnt train as much before) such as gradually running more miles slowly and not over training. Stretching after runs, foam roalling, controlling my breathing, keeping a good steady pace and drinking water. Im so glad I am not cramping anymore running 15+ miles

Thanks for watching, @merkflip ! And congrats on getting in that longer mileage and overcoming that cramping. That's a big milestone. I do think that some of that comes with experience and learning what works for you as an individual. My husband pretty much has to take salt tablets to get through the late miles of a marathon without cramping.

Love belly breathing for my pelvic floor and core, but didn’t realize it’s beneficial for running too!

I should probably be doing that a lot more often, quite honestly! Who knew how you breathe could matter so much?!

Thank you, had a side stitch today and was having a hard time figuring out why it happened. Might need to find some running breathing tricks

Hope this helped give you some answers - side stitches are no fun. Sometimes it's also just a matter of continuing to run and give your body time to adapt.

Thanks for the tip hopefully it will come in handy when I do a race

Hello!! I hope so, as well. I would say even practice a bit during a training run with the techniques (even if you don't feel a stitch) so that it will feel more natural to do it if that pops up during a race. The breathing helps no matter what. Happy running!
