Everything Zack does is great except for his actual speaking and presentation. I'm surprised how poorly he's been able to improve his ability to speak and present. It's so robotic and he really could use someone else hosting these videos. High schoolers legitimately sound less awkward and robotic.

I didn't know this channel and went to past videos to see the characters you mentioned. After watching a few, some sketches are quite clever, others are a bit cringe. Getting it right all the time is impossible and certainly will not jollify all audiences. I take you watch youtube at normal speed, and because CSI videos are quite long, you want him to get straight to the point, instead of goofing around. Thus, as a solution, you should take the time to train your brain to watch at 2x or higher speed. Start at 1.25x and 1.5x for all videos, in a few days move to 1.5x and 1.75x until, after a few weeks you can comfortably watch at 2x. It's a natural process that takes time (I currently watch youtube at 2.7x, 3.5x in my first language). That way the sketches go away so fast, they are barely a disruption and the videos become short. As an alternative, just hit the right arrow key a few times during play to skip the characters.

This channel would take off if he would be willing to hire a professional presenter. CSI is so good at showing and uncovering everything about Starship, the base, and the booster. But as long as Zack continues to be the "presenter", these videos will continue to sound unnaturally awkward and poorly narrated/presented. He sounds like an AI narrating an article on a news website.

10/10 for the information. 0/10 for Zack's ability to speak without sounding like a middle school student reading a script. His delivery is so awkward and robotic. It's clear that he wants to be the "voice" of this channel despite the fact that he has not improved his presentation skills after years of videos.
@jeromeball859
@jeromeball859 10 ай бұрын
@@con9467 My impression has been quite the opposite - He delivers the narrative with a crisp and precise diction that is essential in following complex material, and he should not change it. This is engineering, not Shakespeare. Compare Zack's delivery with other space YT'ers - who I like and follow - such as WAI and Marcus House and even occasionally Scott Manley. Their tone and cadence seems tailored to match that of generic YT presenters who use their presentation skills to set a happy and energized mood as they discuss anything from cooking to makeup to cars. I don't object to this, but it's better suited to lightweight news and straightforward topics. I listen to Zack to understand difficult material, and fluff presentation doesn't help in that. I'll take direct clarity any day.

One thing I really like about this channel is the way you give all the sources of footage a call out at the end of each video, surprisingly few do this instead just listing it in the video description. My materials science professor used to say "The difference between detonation and deflagration? In deflagrations you get big pieces and in detonations you get little pieces" Deflagrations feature a traveling flame front slowly building up pressure, and you get big pieces as seams give way. Detonations are the simultaneous explosion of all reaction materials, so it blows apart the vessel into little pieces. Thanks, Stage Zero Zack, for a great job documenting the little details that make your productions unique. Can't wait for Part 2!

This is great work. No-one else is doing deep dive to this level of quality afaik. The production values are beatiful. I looove that you got to correct Scott, good for you (no offence Scott, love you too). I'll offer a couple of comments because I sincerely want you to succeed and maybe no-one else is offering this kind of feedback (can't be bothered to read all the comments)... i) Slow down a touch. I'm a native english speaker but I have to listen very carefully to catch all of what you're saying, and I want to hear every word. For example the pace changed at 5:19 and was immediately easier to follow and I felt myself relax. And it was obvious hat you were more relaxed. ii) I think you need to smile or something, whatever makes it look like you're relaxed and actually enjoying what you're doing, which I'm sure you must be. It all just feels a little too somber, like you're reporting bad news rather than enthusiastcally delving into the details of something exciting that we all love. I'm not suggesting you go all over the top, not at all, but just look like you're enjoying it. Think Marcus House and how pleased he looks to be bringing us the good news. I hope your channel continues to grow and you find great rewards for your superb efforts x

Ultimately this is what utterly puzzles outside observers of the situation and the community as a whole. Thanks to the open development and the absolutely amazing efforts of the community analysts and content creators, we have a very significant chunk of regular folks with knowledge far outpacing the reporting capabilities of the average media and thus the average person. This is very much a unique case for the industry as the best we can usually do is "best guesses" which also often implies just believing companies and politicians at their word, which is far from ideal.
