I am still trying to figure out grading and what cards to send and to where. I really like the look of Beckett. Keep doing an amazing job, building and educating the card community. 👏

Items that missed their deadlines to be processed will receive a discount once they hit your account. The problem I’ve experienced over the last couple of years is that there isn’t a rush to get them all cleared once the deadline is passed. They’ve already missed it. It they are stuck in that “waiting to be processed” phase, drop an e-mail to support for updates.

Hey Run, I would appreciate any tips and tricks for pricing vintage cards( 60's & 70"s baseball and hockey). Thanks
@RunGoodLife Жыл бұрын
Vintage is unique because of not just the condition, but also the centering if it's raw vintage. Perfect example of this are the 1971 Topps with black borders. Centering on this set is generally atrocious, and the black borders are susceptible to edge wear. This is the type of set that I routinely look at on COMC because people will just price their cards to lowest even when they're reasonably centered and look clean. I would say if you are cards are PSA 3-5 quality, you can confidently price around the rest of the pack. But if your cards are centered and you think they're PSA 6+ potentially, you need to spend more time looking at all the copies available on COMC and determine if you think the buyer should pay a premium for your card being substantially better condition than the rest.

Do you recommend doing the 50 cent submission price for most cards?
@luisp1294 Жыл бұрын
Just one question. PSA use to be out MONTHS on their lowest submission price. Now they're moving at a much faster pace of around a month out at that same price level. I heard that COMC takes 3 months to input your cards once they receive them. Like PSA, has COMC lowest submission level picked up any steam? It has been a huge deterrent as to me sending in my first submission. Id rather list on eBay or facebook groups and move them exponentially faster, then risk a player losing value or going into the offseason (at the time of this comment think anyone in the NBA playoffs). Thank you in advance.

Great Video! I am a new COMC user with the same strategy as you - I loaded 1000s of PC cards and pricing them to sell quickly by undercutting all the other listings. However, Ive noticed I still consistently get low ball offers (50%-60% of my listing price) and people are not buying them outright. Is this normal? How much do you haggle back and forth?

RGL one last question please. When does Comc take out their fee of .50 a card? Appreciate you!
@RunGoodLife11 ай бұрын
At the time they upload it into your account.
@MrSmitty10 Жыл бұрын
When you are “comping” a lower end card to flip or resell, say it’s between $3-$10. Should you include the shipping fee in your comp? For example, if a card sold for $5 and shipping was $4, do you comp it at $5 or $9? Is it safe to say that same card would sell for $9 with free shipping?
@crawfordarmstrong Жыл бұрын
Good question. Personally, I do take that into account somewhat, but not completely. It still depends on what's available on COMC that you're competing with. One other benefit to COMC for international collectors is that they get to consolidate shipping which can be a huge savings. Currently, it's like $13 to ship to Canada from the US. So for selling cards, it's a good way to access that wider market easier.

Hey RGL - what's the deal with COMC being harsh on "grading" card submissions? 20% of the cards I send in, often pack-fresh, get marked as EX-NM despite no flaws I can see. I've also bought plenty of EX-NM-marked raw cards on there, sent them into PSA, and gotten 9s and 10s.
@andrewmartin9186 Жыл бұрын
I was about to comment on this. You can request a revision of any EX-NM cards. Submit an error report and ask for a removal or a specific condition note as to why they graded it harshly. I have had decent results with getting those removed. Pro tip, file the error report, then refile after 3 days if there is no completion. They will get to it.

do all comc cards go to ebay? or are they selling outside of ebay?
@thepursuitofhappiness9390 Жыл бұрын
Raw is supposed to be 8.5 or above? What label do you put on possible 9s n 10s? Every time I look at "raws" they're in terrible condition. This is what I'm confused about, I see EX-NM going for higher than raw.
@RunGoodLife Жыл бұрын
There is a ton of inconsistency on the website when it comes to raw vs EX-NM. EX-NM is suppose to be 6-8 I believe? Raw is suppose to be 8.5 or better, but with so many sorters, and COMC's internal standards have changed many times throughout the years.

If I donate I see they donate 80% of proceeds in your name so do you actually get any store credit once it's sold in COMC's charity account or given back fees when you had it listed in your own account? Thanks for any info

Simple question, why do you only consider the price of the service fee and not consider what it cost you to purchase the card?
@moaf2padventures757 Жыл бұрын
probably bc how much youre into a card for is a sunk cost and therefore no longer relevant. if the lowest copy of your card is selling for $4 on comc and you want to sell everything as quickly as possible, it doesnt matter if you paid $1 or $10 for it. youre pricing it at about tree fiddy.

I think how to find some good cards to flip
@RunGoodLife Жыл бұрын
This will likely be several videos in the future. Knowing which cards to flip (that aren't the most well known cards in the hobby i.e. Luka rookie prizm, etc) is more based on intuition, knowledge and experience in the hobby. I can't teach someone to spot every undervalued card, but I can teach some elements of it, and also teach how to do the research to spot undervalued cards to flip
@moaf2padventures757 Жыл бұрын
why is it adding .25 to the price of every one of your cards??
@crawfordarmstrong Жыл бұрын
The buyer pays that as a premium. What I generally do is add my desired price in the second column where it shows "after markup" then it does the backwards math for me.

You mean some of the fools have listed their cards way to high then yeah I agree. Has nothing to do with comc…. I care not to buy from Gary much… I sell throu comc and I buy auctions from eBay but only from hobby shops close by that causes me to never pay shipping… and then send off. 19/20 times I only paid $1 to buy the card. $1 to send to comc and then sale for $6-$12 and generally sale 4-10 a day. It’s not much. But all year long it will add up

@RunGoodLife2 ай бұрын
No, I understand how the micro-economics of COMC works. If you submit a card that already has 10+ other copies and understand how sales velocity works, the card is eventually going to 0. Take what you can get on and move on. Otherwise your card will sit there for all of time.
@marksartain57722 ай бұрын
@@RunGoodLife but guys like you with huge volumes then squeeze out the little guy. Just like Walmart does when they come to town and all the little ma and pa shops go into bankruptcy. Not saying you’re wrong, just pointing out a fact.
@RunGoodLife2 ай бұрын
@@marksartain5772 I just play the game, I'm not a fan of it. I would prefer COMC have enough buyers and liquidity that I could confidently price all cards at a price point where I don't lose money on submission fees, but that's not feasible. It doesn't matter how much volume you do. If you want your card to sell befores others, and you don't want your card to potentially sit there for a decade or longer, you'll be the lowest price. Actually, this is a funny conversation, because I have 11,000 cards for sale and COMC offers no management solutions for a seller of my size to quickly manage my inventory, so a majority of my cards are not priced lower than others. So that means it's more likely others are undercutting me more than I am them these days.
