Sandra you are the best of the best. I’m trying to get into a craft faire and looking on Etsy to see what they are charging and couldn’t believe it. I learned 35 years ago never ever use sale products price. I went to a craft store and bought stuff to make a Easter basket over the weekend. Almost everything was on sale. Took it to work to show it to my co-workers and got 20 orders. When I gave them the price I used the sale price I paid. Remember this was the first time I made and sold it. When I went back to buy my materials, they were no longer on sale. I couldn’t go back and up the price. I ended up taking a $100 hit 😢. So I learned that lesson. But I didn’t know all the other factors you mentioned. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge. It really meant a lot. 😊

You’re so welcome and thank you for such a wonderful compliment 🤍 and yes, it’s hard not to pass the bargain that we got into the customer if we get something on sale, but like you said, sometimes when we go back, the price is much higher than before. It’s just easier to keep the price the same as much as possible because then people won’t question why your prices are all over the place

I use Pirate Ship to mail all of my orders and I save a lot of money that way. I'm not sure how to save when it comes to sizing. Unfortunately, the bigger the package, the more it cost.

You must have been reading my mind!!!! I have been wondering how much I should charge if I sell my Wreaths. This has been so very very helpful. Do you have any ideas how I can start selling my wreaths? I started making wreaths last Lobor Day, Now that I have discovered how much I love making them I can't stop. Now I have so many that my family says I should sell them, but I have no clue where to start. Again thanks so much.🥰

I add up everything i use and than add 10.00 to 20.00 to it.I don't actually add my time to it. I am retired and it just keeps me busy. Plus i look at my area that i am selling to.

@suegood5816 That’s a big shame. It hurts other wreath makers (like me, a young widow) who are trying to supplement their income for their children. That kind of like being the “wal-mart” of the wreath making industry. I hope you reconsider 😢

Wow!! But if you’re new to wreath making and just do the basics is it justified for you to sell a wreath for $50 when I was wondering if $25 was too much?? I find your info very interesting and helpful. I never would have thought to charge for glue sticks, channel stems or my time.

No matter if you’re new or experienced when it comes to wreath making, be sure to take in every single cost for all the materials you used. You must charge for them AND your time. Eventually, it’s totally up to you on how you price your wreath but remember, not everyone can do what you do. You have a talent and so you should be charging for that accordingly 💗
