If you use a water hose to prime the pump, how/where would the air in the pipe to the lake get out?

How many sprinklers rotors can you put on a 2hp pump pulling from lake per zone ?? On another question how many spray heads can I use at the same time using a 2hp an a zone/ valve ?? Thanks in advance

I have that same pump. My issue is that the pump is primed once and works well for the two zones, the next morning the motor is not pumping water again unless I prime again. If not keeps running till the cycle is over if I let it. It could burn. There is no leak so I don't know what can be causing this to happen.

Hello, your comment makes absolutely no sense. The union is there so we can easily remove the vertical piece to show our technicians the screen. This is obviously not a real suction line for a real system (not sure if you noticed that considering we are clearly in a training facility). Please do not comment on our page unless you are willing to be positive and actually have relevance to anything.

Pacific Lawn Sprinklers Franchise something I’ve learned in the field with shallow well pumps is people who don’t know any better will install a union on a suction line either to make the check valve easier to replace or to make a underground repair. Unions are never completely air tight connections amongst other special pvc fittings such as ball valves. Very rarely do I meet a tech who knows, understands, or agrees with that.

For the record, I use threaded unions on my suction lines, and never had one leak and suck air. Makes winterization and eventual pump replacement a breeze.

I'm a home owner, unprofessional, and I used a T at the "Suction Line" where I added a tap so I can hookup a water hose and prime the line to the like. The above discussion (you can not have a union) explains why priming keep failing.. is that correct analysis ? @@tradingsystemsgroup5312
