You did not mention sorting. I believe sorting must also be done to earthng pond otherwise the early developers will finish everything.

Pls kindly provide answers to my questions 1. how old is post fingerlings after hatching. 2. I am just starting fish rearing and the breeder said he gave me post fingerlings that I should start with 0.5 to 0.8mm of Copens, I took 500 pieces. They eat 5kg of 0.5- 0.8mm We moved to 1.2kg copens, they eat 2kg of that, we started 2mm of blue crown yesterday 12/9, he said they will eat 1 bag of 2mm and move to 3mm of eco float and they will eat 5 bags of 3mm. They will be 4weeks we collected them as post fingerlings on Teusday 17/9/ 2024 Pls am I on track. I live in Ijebu-Ode 3. My breeder said we are going to raise these fishes to 1kg in 5months Mrs Mako

This is not possible. Don't forget that it is not only the feeds that make fish to grow. What about water management? What happens with sorting, cannibalism etc

With regards to cannibalism, catfish are carnivorous and will most likely prey on the sick/weak and young. As long as the pond is large and there is room to move around, this is limited

Whenever you want to feed your fish, you start by giving them little quantity of feed and you watch them, you can stay there for like 5 to 10 minutes they will eat and they will be OK, as the time they start withdrawing from the spot where you are pouring the fish food then you start withdrawing the quantity of fish food you’re pouring inside.

Some will definitely not make it, the aim is to produce 1 ton and not 1,000 pcs of fish, catfish are sold with measuring scale, if 850 pcs consumes the feed, they will still produce 1 ton.
