Alright! I really am impressed. Easy as 1,2,3. Thank you. I did take the fob apart and was worried that the servos were bad, and I felt that I may need to replace the fob. But it worked. Now I am going to get a second key and fob. The car came with only one. I will use this video to program the key and new fob. Thank you. The car is a 2005 Mercury Marquis.

Clarification--as the narrator stated, you need 3 KEYS--2 existing Ford Keys plus your newly cut key to program the key chip (FOB is separate). If you only have one key plus your newly cut key, you will need to go to a locksmith or a Ford dealer to program the chip on that newly cut key through the OBD reader port using their specific tools. Most locksmiths near me charge about $150 to cut a key blank and program. I purchased the key blank on line.

Hindsight. I have one key that sets off the anti theft system and won't start the car. The other key works fine to start the car. Both keys open and lock the doors and pop the trunk just fine. It sounds like something happened and your key is Deprogrammed and it won’t start the car so unless you have two keys that will start the car you’re probably gonna have to go to the dealership

This may vary depending on your vehicle but in general "Note: A maximum of eight coded keys can be programmed to your vehicle. Only four of these eight can be integrated keyhead transmitters."

You can have up to 8 keys total programmed. So you can program 6 at one time. Then the other 2 keys are your originals

FWIW My 2016 Ford Focus doesn't chime. Not sure why, but I just watched the lights on the dash and waiting until the BRAKE light on the speedometer turns off is the equivalent of the "chime". So just wait for that on each key turn and it'll work like a charm.

When I used to have a 2005 Ford Focus. I had 2 key fobs at that time. Only one of them worked for the car. I never had that problem when I had 2011 Mercury Milan, 2015 Ford Escape, or even my current 2020 Ford Escape SE. My last one that I have on 2 different key chains. One with a pink theme and the other one with a blue theme. The pink one is my main one.

All you have to do is put keys in until they prove out (lights go out). Takes about 3 secs or so per key. It programs third key to start and keyfob at same time.

ONLY ONE ORIGINAL KEY? READ ON, it will definitely work, BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE A REMOTE STARTER. if you have one original key and a remote starter. Then you can program a spare key ( not key fob, that’s a different process ) . First sit in the car/truck. Then press remote start (hold) to start the car/truck, BUT before it starts the engine, press the brake ( this simulates, a key turn, as your car/truck DID NOT start the engine) . Then take the ONE AND ONLY key you have and Turn it ON and OFF (making sure to NOT turn the ignition and start the car/truck). Take out the key (the one and only)and Immediately after take the new cut key (unprogrammed) and put it in the ignition and turn it ON AND OFF. That’s it , it should be programmed. You should be able to START the car/truck by turning the newly programmed key in the ignition.

I managed to programme the keyfob following instructions from the seller. I tried to programme the key, but the problem I have is that my car does not chime, so I don't know when I should take it out and insert the 2nd and so forth and so on. Any ideas ?' (PS. This worked for me with four button FOBs purchased from Amazon on 2014 Mustang. Things I would note: 1) Home Depot can cut the FOB key... BUT... you need a nice employee and need to know what to tell them. Tell them to put your original already cut key in the regular key hole first (they should know this). The Home Depot key machine will scan the key and recognize its a FOB key and want it moved to the auto hole.... DO NOT DO THIS... it won't cut this type of FOB key and will say its not compatible... tell employee not to press "Yes" that is an auto/FOB key on the key machine. The key machine will then have operator leave original key back in the regular key hole and assume its just a key with no transmitter. Next, it will scan the key to look for a matching key type (for my FOB key/2014 Mustang it was #24). This assumes you are buying a regular Home Depot key style #24. The operator can pull out a #24 key and scan the #24 barcode, but NOT use the #24 Home Depot key. Machine will allow operator to leave original key in the none auto key hole and put the new FOB key you bought on Amazon (or wherever) in the cutting hole. Machine will now cut key. This is why you need a NICE employee. Home Depot is trying to sell you a key, not just cut a key. The operator also doesn't want to be responsible if your key isn't cut correctly. The first Home Depot I tried wouldn't do it. When I couldn't find a lock smith, I tried another Home Depot. This employee was nice and after I told employee I wouldn't hold him responsible if key didn't turn out, he was willing to try. This is where I memorized instructions. Once I knew instructions, I haven't found an employee not willing to be nice when I tell them I know what to do and that it works. BONUS: Every employee that cut my key FOBs wouldn't let me pay (pay for key #24 they didn't actually cut). I was and am very willing to pay. They don't let me, so, I am getting my new blank FOB keys cut for free! ALSO NOTE: Machine cut FOB key perfectly (key always works) , but I do smooth the edge at home with a small file so its not a sharp edge. 2) For the 8-times rotation to work on my Mustang, I had to have driver door ajar, had to hit unlock button, then had to do the 8 times VERY FAST... if you do it slow.... it doesn't work. Took me 6-8 times to figure out this routine going back on forth looking up steps on internet. It will be very obvious and you will hear door unlock when done correctly. You then press any button on ALL keys to program them. This is important because I bought new FOB keys because the unlock button wasn't working on one of my two original key. Programming doesn't care which button you press on each FOB key. Just have to press one button on each. You can have up to 8 keys programmed at one time. If you had four keys working. Run the program again using only two, only those two will work. 3) One of the FOB keys I purchased on Amazon had the battery installed backwards. Thought it was bad key at first, then thought it might have a bad battery. When I went to replace battery, found it was installed backwards. Not one key has actually been bad for me. I bought a 2nd hand 2013 Ford Focus hatchback...the previous owner installed a new remote (aftermarket)...problem is the 2 original keys (from the dealership) are not working but when I tried to use the keyblade inside the fob (original key), it can open and start (push start) the car. What do I do to get the original keys working again so as to revive features like keyless entry etc..?

Touching the break broke one of my relays and my engine fan wouldn't turn of. Ran my battery low and had to boost it. The relay was only $15 for 2, but I would like to reiterate, don't touch the break in the process.

I have cmax 2008. Car never goes to programing mode for remote. i tried 4,6,8,10 times and never heard any beep from car. I can start cars with all my 3 keys but cant programm them manualy.
