How do you make it so that only ONE of the programs actually runs? Example I set Program A for Summer schedule, Program B for Winter, and Program C for daily watering (for bare repair). I only want Program A to run. It seems all 3 programs are always running all the time. Is there a way to set the "Active" program and "disable" the other two (without deleting the times out of them, which is the whole purpose for having programs)
@Iscaper2 жыл бұрын
The fastest/easiest way is to turn the start times off on the programs you don't want to water. The purpose of programs is to water yard areas with similar watering requirements. For example: lawn zones on program A, drip zones and planter areas on program B, and a new sod area or garden area on program C.
@Iscaper12 жыл бұрын
All timers water the station zones in sequence. The reason for this is flow available for the yard. You don't have enough flow to water the whole yard at once. The sprinkler valves break the yard up into sections so that you can water a section at a time with the timer.

I get an err message on the no 1 station only -- the rest work fine -- i can make it work manually - the trouble shooting says to extend the smart port wiring but i don't have a remote hookup - is it just a valve problem on that station
@Iscaper4 жыл бұрын
According to troubleshooting in the manual you have a station wire shorted out or a bad solenoid. A bad solenoid is usually the problem.

This is the solution I received from Hunter technical support: Thank you for contacting Hunter Technical Support. The early SRC controller’s calendar only displays to the year 2011. For the controller to track the correct days of the week set the current year to 2001. The controller will then display the current day of week for proceeding years.

Very Helpful video. How do you fix when the timer appears to be working but when you try to run manually and switch it to run, it does nothing and goes back to time?
@Iscaper10 жыл бұрын
Have you tried manually watering one station and watering a program? Check that you are on the correct program and that you have run times on the stations being manually watered. If those items check out set the start time a few minutes ahead of the current time and confirm that the program will start watering. If it does then there might be something wrong internally on the timer with the manually watering feature.

All the battery does is save the programs if the power goes off. It has nothing to do with operating the valves. You need to get a volt tester and check if the timer is putting power to the valves while running your manual program. Try this: Start your manual program. Take the volt tester and put one probe on the common wire and the other probe on the station that is running. You should get 24-29 volts on the tester reading. "continued"
@Iscaper12 жыл бұрын
If you don't have 24-29 volts on this test then there is something wrong internally with the timer. If you do have 24-29 volts here then your problem is between the timer and the valves. You might have a cut timer wire to the valves.

I have a question hopefully you can help me out, If the timer is already programmed from the year before, do I need to Program again every start of spring or can I just set the year and date..

If it was plugged in and in the off position you should be good to go. Just turn the dial to the Run position. You shouldn't have to set the year and date. I would use the dial to check the settings.

Great video. When setting odd days, do all the days of the week have to be selected as well? The manual is unclear on this point, and our system has stopped watering automatically. The odd arrow was solid and Sunday was flashing. All other days were blank. Thanks for the help.
@Iscaper10 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have the "set days to water" programmed correctly if the cursor is solid under the "odd" on the display. The days of the week should blank out when you select odd or even days. Double check that you have a start time programmed in for that program and that the stations have time on them. Also check that you have the information on the "set current date/time" entered correctly. If the the timer still won't water on odd days, try setting a custom schedule and see if that works. If it does then there might be an internal problem with the timer on the odd day setting.
@russellstreet570710 жыл бұрын
iScaper1 Thanks. In the meantime, we contacted Hunter directly and asked them the question. They say ALL days have to be selected in addition to odd/even. So we'll keep trying various settings. We just can't remember how it had been set previously. The controller we had in our previous house was different, so we are confused. However, when we figure it out, we'll post the solution we find.
@Iscaper10 жыл бұрын
russellstreet Hmmm. I wonder if Hunter support has it right. I no longer have the SRC timer shown in the video, I currently have a SRC Plus timer but it programs almost like the SRC. I just went out and turned all the days "on" like they recommended with the plus button. When I got to the cursor to the "odd" day position and pushed the plus button to select it, it turned the previously selected days from Sun-Sat off. This seems right to me because if all the days are selected on a custom cycle, how could the odd day feature work?
@russellstreet570710 жыл бұрын
iScaper1 It took a while to confirm the procedure, because rain and cold in Ontario meant we used our sprinkler less than normal, so it took more time to track the programming and performance. Long story short, we had to set BOTH days AND odd/even as directed by Hunter for it to work. Hope this helps someone else doing their own programming.

Check the start times on all programs. Make sure you do have multiple start times programmed in. Each program will have 3 or 4 start times.

@Corona47MS It's surprising that your timer has lasted that many years. If correct year and date are important to you, you will probably have to upgrade. If you water a lot manually or the day of the week doesn't matter you could continue to use it. You could test it out by manually watering a cycle or turning it to auto and see if it operates a program.

How do you reset it to factory settings
@Iscaper5 жыл бұрын
Clearing the Controller's Memory/ Resetting the Controller If you feel you have misprogrammed the controller, there is a process that will reset the memory to factory defaults and erase all programs and data that has been entered into the controller. 1. Press and hold down the Minus, Next and PRG buttons. 2. Press and release the reset button in the lower wiring compartment. 3. Release the Minus, Next and PRG buttons. The display should now show 12:00AM. All the memory has been cleared and the controller may now be reprogrammed.

@Iscaper10 жыл бұрын
Can you open the valve manually and water comes out that sprinkler zone? If not then your water isn't on somewhere. If water comes out the sprinkler zone when you open the valve manually but not off the timer, you may have a problem in the valve or timer wire to the valve.

Thanks for sharing. How do you completely remove programs from this controller if you would like to start over with programming?
@Iscaper10 жыл бұрын
The easiest way to keep a program from watering is to eliminate any start times for that program. For example: You have a start time of 6am on program B for all the stations. If you set the start time to OFF none of the stations will water. Other ways to keep a program from watering are to run all the station run times on that program to zero and/or turn all the days OFF.

Thank you so much for posting this! It has saved my life today. I still have one problem that you have solved below, sort of. Under Program A, I have times set for each zone, which you explained is why it's running FOREVER each morning. I would like to turn those times to "OFF", but can't figure out how to do it. When adjusting the time, it flows thought. Can't figure how to turn it to off. Any suggestions?
@Iscaper9 жыл бұрын
Amanda Wiseman Hi Amanda. You don't need a start time for each zone. One start time will activate all stations sequentially in that program. To eliminate start times: 1. Turn the dial to Set Program Start Times. 2. If you want to keep Start Time 1 for program A press the Next button to go to Start Time 2. 3. If there is time on Start Time 2 use the Up or Down arrows to move the time to Midnight. 4. Push the Minus button once to turn the stop time OFF. There should be not time showing on the display. 5. Repeat the steps above for start times 3 and 4 on program A and programs B and C if needed. Let me know if this helps.

I have the same unit and for some reason when it finishes the cycle, it will start all over again. I have turned the other two programs to OFF, and am just running program A. I am wondering when setting the start times, do I just need to set one start time and each station will run in succession? Or do I press the Next button and add set the additional station start times, or turn the rest to off? Thanks.

One start time will water all the stations that have time on them in sequence. You don't need a start time for each station on program A. If you just want to water once a day then program in one start time and turn the rest off.

Turn the dial to Set Station Run Times. Notice in the display which program you're on. Hitting the Next button will show you which stations have run times set on that program. You can repeat these steps on all the programs to see which stations will water (as long as you have a start time and days turned on for that program).

When you turn the dial to "set days to water" the arrow blinks on the day you need to set. Use the + button to turn the day on and the - button to turn the day off. After you select the plus or minus button for that day the arrow moves to the next day. Repeat the process I just described for each day. When you're done setting the days on or off for the week turn the dial to "set station run times" then back to "set days to water" and you'll be able to see if you set the days to water like you wanted. The arrows will display on days that are going to water and won't display on days that are shut off.
