Just to lessen the draw on the battery while the ignition is on, and from what I have researched if your accessories are on while the tune is being loaded it could mess with the tune or your PCM.

Dennix200 I figured. How would it mess with the PCM? Would you notice it? I always tune with my radio on that’s why I’m asking.

Those preloaded tunes. Do you download that one first then the custom tune?

The SCT X4 comes with some preloaded tunes (canned tunes) you do not have to download them. They come already downloaded onto the programmer.

I’ve been running the performance tune for 8 months now not proofed at 275k miles. Never had any problems. Knock on wood

Yeah definitely knock on wood! LOL Probably okay just running the performance, start getting into custom Tunes like Looney Wild and your head gaskets turn into a ticking time bomb. I have heard tunes that keep your RPMs under 3000 greatly decreases the risk of blowing head gaskets.

Quick tricks automotive has a good reputation from what I heard about them and they offer awesome customer support. I had a great experience with the tune I got from them. There are other places to get tunes for your vehicle.

@@adampabst654 yeah, I just looked at their site. Interesting they have nothing there anymore as It seems to be under repair as it says "Please check with us at a later date for information on Ford custom tuning options." In the meantime I would definitely give them a call or shoot them a email.

Yes, just the device it's self along with a upgraded FCIM and straight pipe exhaust.
