My ac unit was reset by accident. I used to have it set at 77 and at 79 is when it would turn back on. I want it like that again! 🙏🏻 I just don’t know how to set it back to that? UGH! 😩😫 Can you please help me? In other words I had it set 2 degrees higher than my set temp at 77 so it would turn OFF at 77 but turn back on when temp in house would reach 79 and I really want to set it back like that again. I had a power outage and it set my Trane thermostat to factory settings. The heat pump now blows hot air in the cool setting. How do I reset it?

A power outage could have caused a couple different issues. If the settings reset in the thermostat, you would have to go to the installer setup and adjust the settings. If the power outage caused issues to the heat pump's electrical components, then a certified technician would have to resolve this. Either way, my recommendation would be to have a certified technician come out to verify the system settings and operation.

I have a Trane ac similar to the one on this video. My question is somehow I am unable to increase the heating temperature. If I have it selected in Heat I am only able to increase it to 65... how can I fix this? Is it just by editing the heating and cooling points?

This thermostat doesn’t actually use batteries. This thermostat is wired to your indoor unit. This thermostat should be powered on as long as your indoor unit has power.

girishsan I've had this issue twice now. We had a technician one out - cost a ton of money - and all he did was mess with the settings. He said with outages, sometimes the thermostat "forgets" that you have both a heating and air conditioning unit attached and just runs heat non stop

It's in the settings. This just happened to me. It happened not too long ago and a buddy of mine who is an AC Tech came and fixed it. The settings have to be unlocked by pressing and holding a combination of buttons. The option is "energize reversing valve". I can't remember how to get to it though.

Service>installer Settings>Equipment Type>Outdoor Unit needs to be HP ....fyi not an AC person, just happens every time we get a power flicker during a storm. So annoying. Happened once in the middle of the night. Woke up to 85 degrees downstairs and like 70 upstairs. Ridiculous. Can't wait to change out these thermostats.

Go to menu Setting “Display” and scroll to “Security” This will allow options for Select security level • Unlocked - Enables selection of all menus and settings • Display Lock - Disables selection of all menus and settings • Guest Access - Disables selection of all menus and settings except the following: Raise or lower heating or cooling setpoint +/- 5 degrees and change system mode Note: When Display Lock or Guest Lock is selected a lock icon will appear next to the up arrow. Note: To disable Display Lock or Guest Access, press and hold the up and down arrows until the lock icon disappears.

With a small screwdriver, you need to depress the clips on the bottom side. I recommend finding the manual because it is possible to damage the thermostat when removing.
