This is the best result of all the tutorials for cymbal swells I've seen on KZbin. So many great tricks for avoiding the machine gun effect. Turning off the grid, using two cymbals instead of one, alternating the velocities... and all that in less than 5 minutes. Fantastic tutorial!

This is perfect for what I need. Sticks; not mallets. Hits on top; not the edge, and programmable; not cymbal swell samples, so I can fit it exactly to what my songs need. Sounds human. Thank you so much.

Nice result. I have mistakenly only used one cymbal for swells. Using two sounds more spacious.

Maybe worth noting, when playing a swell on an acoustic kit I definitely play it in time. When not in time then I’d say rubato but that’s not the same as randomized notes. Whatever it is, it’s intentional. I think most acoustic kit drummers would do it this way? Still a great tutorial, thank you sir I use programmed parts a lot and the gulf between humanized midi and loose feel playing gets on my nerves every day lol

Never saw this approach shown online, great way to do this. Also never thought of using 2 opposing or different cymbals - adds width.

wghich drum library was this
