Yea man my favorite skaters aren’t the ones that do the craziest stuff. It the ones who make it looks so cool.Even a simple pop shut it over a box can look cool when done nicely with a nice landing. I am now 40 and started again I’m just trying to get my carves to look nice and work on my frontside kick turns on a half pipe. Backside I got but when my back turn to the ramp a little sketchy. I did a 50/50 on a small rail and pulled a muscle in my leg so I was thinking like okay time to go back to basic and get comfy again. Almost looking at it as execrcise. I’ll get back into some cool tricks once I get my leg strength back. Watching JB skate is giving me the motivation to want to look nice carving

I just started skating in January and have watched a ton of your content at this point. Super appreciate how much you put into this channel. Went to local skate park for the first time the other day and had just watched one of your videos about basics of riding bowls and quarter pipes and probably spent an hour just learning how to pump on the mini-ramp and what that feels like. And had a great time by the way, had the place to myself. You have an awesome way of teaching that's humble and just easy feeling. Congrats on fire academy, got quite a few fire fighters in our family and I know that is maybe one of the hardest things a human can do, so kudos.

One of your best video's ever. Casual talk, answers, cut in with some skate moves, and not talking ad nauseum about whatever - as some people tend to do in their video's - talk talk talk. I totally agree 100% that padding up is key to not only obviously avoid or minimize injury but it gives you psychological support that you may/should be able to get out of the trick if you need to bail. And of course, just like you said, you need to know how to use the pads. Just showing up with knee pads on won't work - you have to practice sliding out, get the feel for it, etc. Exactly like you said. I would also say heavy duty wrist guards too as your wrists are not anatomically designed to handle a hard fall forward on cement. This is the most common injury I see is people who slam on their wrists and severely strain it fracture them. The cement doesn't forgive. Love your easy going style about skating and having fun. Especially liked those power slides you were doing on the high wall transition - super cool! If you ever find yourself in Dallas, TX - hit me up for a local skate park sesh.

Nice to see a new format video, and yes good to see you skating. I loved the comments on board shapes. I ride popsicles and old school shapes but what I REALLY enjoy is buying an uncut blank and cutting it to my own shape then trying out different trucks and wheel setups with it. Does it make me skate any better? No! But its good fun. I've done 3 already and just today bought a new one to cut, just to cheer myself up. Keep up the great work fella, always a joy to watch.

This is great. I had three injuries since starting back up in April 2023. Then it got cold with precipitation on the east coast. I was pretty discouraged and psyched out about getting hurt again. I have four primary setups; two aren’t even broken in yet! I walked by my boards and kept imagining how it would feel to coast. Finally, I went back to the very basics and started doing the exercises you mentioned and I’m getting stronger already. Long time fan/not a first time caller 😂🤟…anyway 50 years old NEVER sick of front slash grinds (typical senior skater thing)…but here’s some food for thought I guess: my BEST, longest, loudest, most up on top frontside grinds I feel that I am going NOTICEABLY slower than my normal “trying to go as fast as possible” session speed. The REALLY good frontside grinds ALWAYS feel easier than I make them out to be. I think it’s because the “going slower” feeling is simply being more loose, confident, less aggro. NEVER noticed this when I was young…matter of fact I used to feel like I had to REALLY haul ass to get up on one…best way I can describe it is: “the whole ‘trick’ happens at the bottom of the transition (no matter what speed I’m going)

Big fan. Thank you for continuing to post new videos; especially in the winter. I've learned a great deal from them and always direct those just starting out to your channel. I'm not at that level of precision yet, but I've been wondering what's possible with rails or coping pinched between your wheels and deck (under its broadside edge). 0:09 was the first I've ever seen of that type. I don't even know what those tricks are called? Could you demo more variants of them or devote a video to teaching them?

Please can we get a new air craft racing game for Xbox series X/s, seriously air craft racing is like a car racing game but it includes up and down and even sharp sideways turns ECT and there are actually no choices for aerial racing on Xbox at all, but there is air to air combat but absolutely no aircraft racing, it's seriously ridiculous except for one game that has recently conquered the air racing scene on Xbox and that's rocket suit ECT and aerial racing on "riders republic" and I think that the air craft racing is soo good there needs to be a super intense like Mario cart looking like rocket league racing kind of aircraft racing game with speed boosters and jewel collection xp gems everywhere through technicolor super Lazer light space odyssey light show terrain that is at least 50gb big that's all air craft/space and rocket ship racing through intense light show terrain and obstacles with new graphics and a full long campaign because it's just very good to enjoy a game like that and for some reason there's no games like that usually on Xbox in the modern age and I really hope there is a good game released some day soon that's primarily aircraft and rocket ship racing in full technicolor intensity!
