In regards to the cultural influence abroad, Ireland was into Japanese cars since the late 80s, AE86 were being drifted in the Dublin mountains during the early 90s and many Honda Civics were stolen and raced around at night, Small engine turbo cars were also big here like the Pulsar Gti-R and Glanza. It started to die off a little around the late 1990s then the first Fast and Furious film came out and my country went through an economic boom, suddenly the early 2000s were full of Supra, RX7 and Skylines and we went crazy for cheap imported performance cars.

Yes. Zenki and Kouki is widely used for reference to every car in Japan the same way English speakers say Pre Face lift and Face lift models. For some other models with a lot of revisions like Subaru Impreza WRX STI the Applied model from A-G is used in addition to the head light appearance .

Excellent - thank you for this! As far as requests go, I have a few different thoughts: 1.) Are there any insights that you could provide with regards to either the most popular or the most highly regarded hand tools or specialty automotive tools used in Japan? 2.) I know that you've toured a shop specializing in the diecast scale models, but have you already given a detailed tour of your own collection that can be seen in this video? 3.) I can still recall the very first time I ever saw a Datsun 240Z soon after that car was first released here in the United States (I would have been only around 8 years old). Obviously that car made a huge impact here in the USA. With the new Z car about to appear on the market, I would be very curious to know about how the original Fairlady Z was received in Japan.
