for ch: Set up your mouth and tongue as you would pronounce a German E. The left and right edge of your tongue should cover a bit of your lower teeth both sides, get your upper teeth also down, but do not bite your tongue. Your upper and lower backteeth should touch the tongue. Now instead of pronouncing the E just breath out the air. Practize that until you get a hizzling sound. Now try ich, mich, dich, Licht, Wicht, Gicht, Sicht, richtig, wichtig, nichtig, lichten, richten, wichteln, sichten

Isn’t the “h” in gehen silence?? Before this video, I’ve always heard it (or unheard it haha) like that. Is this because of a regional accent?? How is it then ??

@thongoc80305 жыл бұрын
"R" in german is pronounced as "G", but it is rhotic g. You need to make it vibrating in your throat at your larynx. If you say plain g, people still understand you but it doesn't sound so german because german accent requires really strong voice.

@fremejoker6 жыл бұрын
Die Standardaussprache von -ig ist -ich, aber du kannst auch -ig als -ik aussprechen.
@MartyGNZ6 жыл бұрын
Königlich just proves that you‘re not correct. It‘s much easier if you read and speak as it‘s written... otherwise you start making way too many exceptions to accommodate the particular dialect in your region.
@fremejoker6 жыл бұрын
The standard pronunciation of '-ig' as the ending suffix in the standard dialect called modern German is '-ich'. It's up to the speaker, if he/she want's to pronounce '-ig' as '-ik' or '-ich'. That's why it's called standard dialect and standard pronunciation. Most speakers of the standard dialect tend to pronounce '-ich'. In 'königlich' the ending suffix is '-lich', here the '-ig' is pronounced as written respectively hard. That's because the change from '-ich' to '-lich' is not that easy as from '-ik' to '-lich'. The problem is not phonetics, it's the German orthography. The German orthography doesn't show changes in pronunciation. By the way, the orthography doesn't determine the pronunciation, it's actually the other way around, but the orthography doesn't change that quickly.

how to pronounce the letter "G" as a Colognian (this phrase doesn't make any sense, it just contains all the differen ways to handle that letter in Cologne, Germany): Ein Kölner sagt: "Einen Flugzeugträger jagen" und "reiten"... Ne Kölsche säät (g is dropped): "Ne FluCHzeuSCHträJer jaRe" and "riGGe" (so the normal G is spoken in words tha even don't contain a G in standard german) A Colognian says: "To hunt an aircraft carrier" and "to ride" ,

Die Wörter ZWANZIG, BESTÄTIGT, GESAGT können in einer der folgenden Kombinationen ausgesprochen werden: A) zwanziK, bestätiKt, gesaKt B) zwanziCH, bestätiKt, gesaKt C) zwanziCH, bestätiCHt, gesaKt D) zwanziCH, bestätiCHt, gesaCHt Die Kombination, die ich am schönsten finde, ist C.

How Angela Merkel pronounces her first name::: G in spoken German is essentially the 50 percent English pronunciation oF G __ as in GONE, as it has "G" in English. It's just like GONE or GREECE or GREAT in sound. Angela Merkel = pronounced (ANGLEE - LAA) IN gERMAN ROGER FEDERER = pronounced (ROG - GR) as in great, in Swiss German only. not in other Swiss languages. K IN SPOKEN GERMAN is nearly always pronounced "K" as in Africa (German spelling for continent Africa) . In other works, the word and spelling (AFRICA) in a German letter or paragraph is highly likely to be pronounced by Germans as "AFRISAA". This is why the continent AFRICA is spelled by Germans as "AFRIKKKKA". This is also why Nazi soldiers used to shout "ACHTUNG AMERIKANER". sSo Germans wound likely PRONOUNCE "KANSAS" RIGHT AS IT STARTS WITH A "K". Germans whose mother tongue is German may initially pronounce "Connecticut" as wrongly as "SONNECTICUT", until someone corrects the German national.
