What is the reason that you do not cut a longer stem for rooting? It seems very short and hard to work with.

The stem really isn't what roots. It is the base of the plant...like spider plant. Spider plant doesn't need stem for rooting. It roots at base of baby plant.

Mine hasn't flowered until it matured to at least one year old. Maybe your espiscia is still young. You need to wait for it. You can also use light liquid fertilizer. Just very light.
