Thanks so much for all these videos. I think I threw my last ones away during the dead looking phase thinking I'd killed them. Going to try again this year hopefully with better results. Thanks

No problem, thanks for watching. So long as Hebe have a freely draining soil they will survive most winters. They can definitely go through phases where they look dead and I get plenty of customers who throw the plants out without checking to see if the stems are still alive. Enjoy shopping for new ones🌼

@DIY Home and Gardening I kept my main plant as it was the first bit of green in my garden, its still kicking but I think it's time I tried to propagate again.

@@Steggington_Rex In addition to taking cuttings you could also look at layering a couple of stems, leaving nature to root sections for you too.

Great informative video! Subscribed. Looks like i still have time as we are coming to the end of June. Now I need to go across the road and sneakily snip snip two lovely hebe variants. 😅😅😂

Ahh thanks a lot for watching and your message, glad it’s given you inspiration to go and take some cuttings 😉 Hope the plants do well. So long as the cuttings don’t dry out you still have plenty of time to try. All the best 🌸🌼

Your really helpful I must say, I’ve just started gardening this year and finding your channel amongst all the others was a stroke of luck for me, already had a couple of disasters, started some toms cucumber and French beans all went well as they were in the house, put them out in the poly tunnel and the cold has stopped them growing also did the same with some sweet peas, not to worry lesson learnt, I also planted some cauliflower broccoli and carrots this was seed straight in the ground in the poly tunnel do you think they will grow, lost all my leaks to the cold as well, replanted every thing again so I should still be ok I hope, on a brighter note all the onions and shallots sesame to be coping with cold fine, it didn’t help that I have a salt water Softner and used that water twice to water the poly tunnel another lessen learnt there, fortunately I used rain water the rest of the time. Look forward to your next vid. Regards Al.

Thank you for messaging and for watching my videos👍 Yeah salt softener water on plants is never a good idea. Could you install an outdoor tap before the softener unit, to make watering easier? Don’t worry about the French beans or sweet peas they are generally tough as anything so will continue growing once it warms again. Tomatoes, bring back indoors and they will carry on growing once they have got over the temperature shock. Cucumbers are the only tricky ones so they may die but they may not. Who knows with cucumber. Leeks can just go dormant when temperatures drop so you may well find that they carry on once temps rise. It’s all a learning game and sometimes it works and other times the weather totally messes with all your plans😂. Just keep doing what you are doing and enjoying what you are having a go at.

I really enjoyed the hebe video sir. I took a few bits off my hebe yesterday and put them in a pot but the garden centre had run out of rooting powder so I am relying on prayer rather than powder! Anyway thank you for letting us know that it takes a while for things to happen as I am a bit impatient haha Blessings and peace George PS Like the haircut-very smart!

Thanks for the message. Glad you like the video and are giving cuttings a go. The Hebe should still root but make just take longer, with more mixed results. I’m always impatient and have probably lost many a cutting through checking too soon. Glad you liked the haircut, my wife hated it😂😂
