I watch this video every time I clean my filter. It is the best video I have found on disconnecting and reconnecting a canister filter!! 🐢🐢

Thanks for the video.I was having trouble getting it to work. I was filling it with water before connecting it but the water was not flowing even after repeatedly priming. Leaving it empty and letting the canister to fill from the tank works great. Minimal priming after letting it fill gets all the air out and water flows once connected.

We have the small version of this canister (two baskets) and even though it's on the floor below the tank it will not prime. It's a turtle tank, so it's only filled up part way. I think that is giving us problems...Anybody have hints on how to prime this canister and get it running on a turtle tank???
@neemad3 жыл бұрын
I have cascade, 3 baskets. I fill fillter with water to just below top basket and put container under it (water tends to spill out when you pit the top on). Then I put top on, close latches. Close output valve, open input valve/blue then press priming button few times so water fills intake tubing. Then open output valve, press prime button few more times 10-15x which should fill output tubing. Then plug in, you will hear bubbles. Rock canister slightly from side to side couple times. Then after few minutes you show good to go.
@amym.48233 жыл бұрын
@@neemad Thanks 👍 I ended up having to modify the adjustable intake tube because the part where the two tubes connect was sucking so much air the pump would not prime. This wouldn't be a problem on a fish tank, but the turtle tank only gets filled to the halfway point.
@neemad3 жыл бұрын
@@amym.4823 Mine is also a turtle tank and I have filter next to it, not above so it works but is harder to prime because of this.

Cut your hoses shorter so there's no loop it will flow better, also you can run a piece of that hose through the baskets

my discus is rubbing against some rocks and flicking its tails and fins rapidly sometimes, ammonia 0 , nitrite 0 and nitrate is 5ppm, temp is 28c, ph 7(also does this in ph 6.4) , could it be because of heavy metals found in tap water? I didnt use water conditioner yet, could it be bcoz of that or is it the temp?

@@AquazoneQC actually this water is ground water and has no chlorine, could it be due to heavy metals or some pathogens inside the tank? I have ordered seachem prime
