Excellent! I like the campfire and moonlight on the pines example. That kind of situation is exactly where white balance gets confusing, and I like your approach: find the middle ground.

I’m so glad I stumbled on this video! I just shot a video of my presentation and the colors just shifted from warm to cool and all over because my camera was set to auto white balance and adjusted based on the slides. So annoying. Now I know to just set the temp that best matches the environment. Thanks for the video very helpful!

Enlightening! Been struggling to decide what is the right way to set white balance. Everyone I ask were saying to match the light source to have pure white. But doing some christening, doing that it just messes the overall feel of the church, and I like that warm feeling. I struggle for a while with that. What was right or wrong. This helps understand the concept of white balance more. Thanks !

btw this was actually useful since i set my WB with a point and shoot style app. it's very accurate most of the time, but sometimes it was slightly off for what i wanted the final result to be and i finally figured out why until @ 5:30 i got so used to the app, i stopped trusting what i was seeing out of my camera.

For example if I want to shoot a outdoors sunset and i want to be a lot orange warm color, it's better to set the white balance to match the kelvin and make it normal and less orange and then push it in post or it's better to shoot with a a white balance already push it for have the orange moody look?
