Excellent video. Very very much appreciated. I'm about to order mens hand-made lace up dress boots and need all the help I can get. Thanks again

I looked through your videos, and I did not see this subject covered, and maybe it would make a good video idea: I have issues with my knees getting painful after walking. I am a 60 years old male, size 11EE with a slightly higher than medium arch. I have noticed that some shoes or boots allow me to walk further without pain in the knees than others. Sometimes the difference is significant. What I cannot figure out, is what is the common factor which would help me choose what supports or shoes to buy. Squishy running or walking shoes don't help. In my current shoe collection, the ones that work best are Keen San Jose Aluminium toe work boots that I bought for working in the yard. When I was young, I had a problem that they called "slightly pigeon toed", and my parents took me to a speciality shoe store like yours, and was fitted with shoes that did make my feet more forward facing. I'm sure there might be others who would be interested in this subject. Thank you.

Thank you for this great video. Whenever I walk into a shoe store, and the clerk has the person stand to measure their foot - I walk out. The proper way to measure the foot is on a 45 degree angle. ( with the person sitting ) I learned this over 25 years ago from an old pro.

Very true! For years, I was told that my brannock was a 9.5d, but rarely did that size actually fit. I always felt better in a 9d and sometimes a 8.5d. Turns out my 45 degree weightless brannock is a 9d. Really makes a difference...

Thanks for sharing! Indeed, the best fit is after using the Brannock at the 45degree angle, we still get those customers that insist on standing on it and question our knowledge when the shoe comes out too large.

I'm so confused on the 45 degree angle thing. How do I do this on the Brannock device at home?

what about people who have elephantitis?

Sounds like this shoe fitter skill l is becoming a lost art form. I don’t think theses shoe stores hiring these people now days get proper trading, not their fault.
