Campsites and caravan sites are vulnerable too , it’s very easy to get relaxed about leaving keys around on site or van unlocked. We witnessed travellers on a site last weekend in Mansfield, later that day someone’s van was taken and they just drove it through the barrier ( aluminium pole ) just snapped off like a stick 😮

Caravan Guard said I needed a tracker on a 50k van so not sure where the 65k comes from? I live in rural north oxon away from motorways

I had hydraulic self levelling on my motorhome and it’s great to protect from theft if you deploy it and then pull the fuse which is hidden away as well……try and and pinch it now!

Are 5th wheels less likely to get knicked?

I would have thought so given the specialist vehicle required to tow

On regards to EV charging at campsites I would say don’t offer any charging at all. Has anybody heard of a campsite that offers refuelling of petrol or diesel? So if you have an EV charge it somewhere else.
@MotorhomeMatt Жыл бұрын
That’s certainly an interesting comment! I think at the moment tho many campsites and consumers see an EV charge point as a benefit and reason to book. But I guess if there is EV charging nearby it would t be necessary

Labour are focussed on hammering anybody, including pensioners, who has an income of £11750 pa or more. They prioritise hammering those they class as rich (which seems to be anyone not entitled to pension credit!) over ensuring that the less well off do not freeze to death this winter. It is disgusting. Labour would rather that hundreds of thousands of pensioners freeze this winter ( and on Labour's figures from 2017 around 4000 die from the cold) than that a few pensioners get a small hand-out which they do not need. The simple way to address the issue would be to increase personal tax allowance a bit but add winter fuel payments into taxable income (resulting in the 10,000,000 people being targeted by this disgusting policy still receiving the winter fuel allowance, whilst those with income over the personal tax allowance would pay tax on the allowance at 20%, 40% or 45% depending on their income level). Requires next to no time, effort or administrative expense so would not increase the already excessive cost of administering the ridiculously complex social security system. However this approach does not sufficiently address Labour's key aim to crucify anyone who has a little money or some taxable income, especially those who probably did not vote Labour (ie around 80% of those eligible to vote).

Putting a cover on would stop your solar from working

Yes unless you had one made to reveal the panel. A cover does have other benefits too. Tree sap, dirt, prying eyes all kept at bay

Would you keep receipts for clothes, footwear etc for Insurance claim proof? As your personal items can be worth a small fortune these days, especially designer items 🤔 Regards Simon in Cannock . . .
@MotorhomeMatt7 ай бұрын
Designer items?! If you wear them and keep them in the ‘van’ then go for it! The closest I would get are clothes by Crocs and happy socks!

It's funny you say that though Matt as I'm never more happier to run round in my orange crocs or my Next slippers, but the wife won't let me go to the pub in them 🤷♂️ Saying that my pal's the Arbo's wear Louis Vitton studded boots or trainer's 🤣 I'm not sure even Caravan Guard would cover those at £500 a pop do you 🙈

@@allanb52 yes that’s right in fact this has been mentioned by Caravan Guard - typically £30k to £50k. Easier to sell I guess for £25k
