I wanna thank you for doing this teadias test for us. I picked the the Scotch Gaurd Sun and Water to use on 2 giant fake ferns. I sprayed both sides.You were correct, it is strong smelling like paint thinner. But ,when it dried, no smell, I hung one in my window in my house and one on my porch so it will be exposed to the sunny n rainy elements. I'm still counting the days for a fade test. But , again no lingering smell. I live in South West Florida, I will keep you posted.

Thanks so much! I've bought at least $500 worth of fake flowers and ferns! I'm relieved that the rustoleum is near the top! That is what I'm using. The 2nd night it rained 5 inches and big wind (Pepeekeo, Hawaii) I was shocked that all was still perfect in the morning. If they at least get 50% shade, I'm getting years on my porch and hoping for a year or more with no roof protection. I noticed they like to be up against each other not to flop. Yes, it takes a lot of flowers but good for me since I have a bad knee.I can plant 100 things in 10 minutes, lol.👍💖

Thank you that was very helpful for me. I live in a very wet. I live in Illinois and it's very humid and it's in the Christmas season. You never know from day-to-day. God doesn't tell us the weather. Men think they know, but God doesn't tell him anything. LOL but I have never had a problem with my wrist. But I was going to use them as ribbon on my Garland and on my bushes, which I have never done before. I've always used the plastic ribbon, but this time the Mish. Just comes out to be such beautiful bows that I wanted to find out how to keep them alive.

How do you feel about hair spray on the fabulous 😌Day of the Dead wreath i’m making for our front door? It’s October 23 now and the weather is kinda crisp and coolish (30 degrees) but our weather changes in a second. Very little precipitation. I made the big skull myself out of Bazil scrapbook paper and colored him with good art pencils . He’s topped off, slightly askew, by fake roses sprayed many many times with good spray paint and then covered in sparkles. The rest of the wreath is black spider webby stuff from Micheal’s and then around the wreath are cool frames left over from scrapbook days 🥲with small skull ornaments with the ornament hanger part replaced by individual wacky hats (colored cotton balls, cardboard top hats with a bat embellishment, etc.)OH, and on top I hand painted gladioli from Michael’s - three of them- and they came out so beautifully and with dimension and shading so lovely I don’t know how I did it!🤪. So three of these spring from the tippy top of the skulls head dress WHICH are those black roses from Michael’s I mentioned. I sprayed them pink, silver - which came out a lovely light blue and coral. All had matching sparkles. I had to hide the sparkles after that from myself to stop myself from going sparkle crazy. I know this is a very long post but your video went right to the point without extraneous blah blah (like mine) and you are now my wreath guru. Hair spray ?

Hi Virginia, Like I mentioned in the video - I don't spray them unless requested by a customer. In my experience, the sprays cause more yellowing than anything.

Thank you for this great video and taking the time to do it! I live in sunny, hot, humid Florida and will use either the Scotch Guard or Rust-oleum. Do you think 2 coats instead of 1 coat of the Rust-oleum will yellow? And, you mentioned the great waterproofing the Scotch Guard does, but I don't recall if you mentioned if it yellowed. I am 10 making teardrop shaped wreaths for our Associations lamp posts with faux garland and ribbons which we hope to use year after year. I'd like to use the Scotch Guard because it is more waterproof... but not if it yellows. I'd appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Hi there. How long did you have these wreaths exposed? And thank you so much for taking up your time and supplies to do this test! Its invaluable information for us! I am going to subscribe as my thank you! ❤️

I originally intended to only leave them exposed for 30 days but it ended up being more like 3 months.

Thank you for doing this! I have a wreath that has white roses on it. What can I spray to keep it CLEAN? It will be on my door spring thru summer. Not in the Sun and no moisture here. Also, my starch is in a spray can. How did you get starch into another spray bottle? Have you ever tried hairspray? Just curious thank you!

Thank you for this video, it was very informative. I hang 16 Christmas wreaths in my windows every year. I use red velvet ribbon and am looking for something to spray ribbon with to keep the red from fading. I don't make new ones every year, I try to make them last a few, but truly after the 2nd season they are just too faded. I love them hanging, and they are lit and really beautiful....just need some help preserving the ribbons. Thanks for your imput.

My daughter gave me an awesome very large Halloween wreath for my birthday. It’s an indoor wreath but because of the size I have no good place in my house to put it. I’m trying to find a way to make it so that I could put it outside. Is it even possible to do that?

I’m your opinion which product would help in the protection of a Dollar Tree sign? Their signs are paper on MDF boards. At least that what I think the signs are made of. Is mod podge an acrylic sealer? Thanks in advance.

I was wondering the same thing! I make things for my wreath out of paper and need to know what to do to preserve.

I've had better luck using the Rustoleum 2X clear spray paint. I would apply 2-3 coats to each side of the sign.

This might be a silly question but what about using 2 sealers?? I was thinking about using the starch and water combo and the 2X Rust-Oleum. I'd would let one completely dry before I used the other.
@Kitobby2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kristy, I imagine that you could apply 2 different products. I would just be concerned if one will effect the other or cause discoloration. You'd be best to test it on a sample of ribbon/mesh or whatever materials you used in the design.

What’s up Steve? He needs to be fired. Not because he hit the child but because he didn’t report it, didn’t tell the parents, and he LIED!! That’s what he should be fired for. Lying! No report! Also, how old was the kid because that intersection looked really busy for a small kid not to be supervised.
