Do you know about that case where a woman was duped of Rs.16 lacs by a man who she was apparently in a relationship with, on a very famous internet platform? Have you heard intimate content being shared over the internet on the first & becoming viral the next day?

The millennial generation is born with a smartphone and free-Wi-Fi. They spend 7-8 hours on the mobile phone and forget everything about health, hygiene, homework, and food. They are unaware of the cyber attack, online scams, internet fraud & cyber bully that they are prone to.
He gives some 'Do's and Dont's to Protect Yourself Online':
1) Following Rules on App Store & Social Media Platforms - Rakshit Tandon advises parents and children to follow all the age eligibility criteria set up for all online applications and social platforms. Don't make fake accounts as they will have harmful repercussions.
2) Devoting Disciplined Time to Social Media Platforms
Remember parents setting up rules for playing ? A minimum of 3 hours of studying followed by only 1 hour of play.
Such rules should be set up & we should make sure we go for a restrained use of Social Media.
Children these days, play games or use smartphones, for 7-8 hours and become socially exclusive. They don't know about the experience of talking to real people. This needs to change and this change can be brought about by inclucating disciplinary use of social media.
3) Reporting
Posting obscene content on the internet is illegal. Rakshit Tandon talks about various cases where victims are afraid of their social persona when they were blackmailed online and were bullied on the internet. It is important that they are patient, are aware about their rights and report such content on the internet so that the cyber crime cells can take immediate action.
He concludes his talk by encouraging the audience to make sure that they take all preventive measures like using two factor authentication on all apps to ensure that they don't fall into the traps of cyber bullying/internet fraud/internet scam.
