Very useful video 🙏 Feeling confident that I can now tackle my rambling rose Cécile Brunner. Will be wearing gloves and long sleeves though 😊

I really enjoyed your tips thankyou. I feel confident to do my overgrown Alexandre Girault which has been unpruned for 8 years and is very straggly

Thank you so much. Brilliant, clear , easy to follow advice. Really well filmed, fast forwarded at most appropriate times , left overall film succinct. So now I can go prune.

I have what i think is a rambler that i started from my mother's, which came from her mother. I've had no idea how i should manage the pruning, so it's a mess. I started cleaning up deadwood recently with gloves and goggles then decided enough is enough. I just came in and found your video. Glory to God, i might actually be able to do something with this now, if i CAN untangle it. Thank you so much!!

Great job .. tip for you .. put the bits as prune into a wheelbarrow or garden bin ... saves on the clearing up of prickly things.

Great video with good practical advice. I got my first ramblers this year so watching this has been a great introduction of how to look after them.

Great to see a pro at work 👍, only one thing (eye protection) take it from a old commercial rose worker, I had my nose opened up and i lost sight in one eye for 4 days once, and seen a lot worse, (sorry). Very much enjoyed watching, great video keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍👍

Well all of it has been in horticulture more are less, first half in commercial rose growing and so shrub/tree production, the second half self employed gardener. Love doing what I do now, not just the gardening side but the challenges it bring too, plus building a strong business to be proud of, but think you know that feeling too. Rose work was ok ish great money as mostly pease work a specialy budding (grafting) but hard on the body.

Fantastic video thank you. Although I have many climbing roses I am new to a young rambling rose in my garden. Fortunately mine has been pruned this year before being sent out to me. Would I train a rambler the same as a climber? Lateral?

Really useful video, thank you. I do have one question for you. I've got a new customer that, I think, has a rambling rose, but it's never been pruned. The main stems are about an inch thick and not sprouting any new growth. It's overgrown the space dramatically. How would I go about starting to prune it? It's massive!

Or you could root those cuttings very easily and have hundreds of new plants to either replant, sell, trade, or give away. That's an awful waste of new plants many gardeners especially here in the US, would kill to have cuttings of English roses.

Very helpful guidance. May I ask how old is that rose? Coz mine looks pretty small and it normally has 2-3 new shoots each year.
@westcountrygardenpro7535
@westcountrygardenpro7535 7 жыл бұрын
Jatsen Shen Not sure how old as it's hard to age them to be honest...at a guess 5years plus. If yours is still young then just concentrate on tying those new shoots in rather than pruning out I would say
