THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST HIBISCUS VIDEO I’ve come across here on KZbin. This deserves to be the top suggestion. Great content! 👍🏼👌🏼✨👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼

I just got my first hibiscus plant last night. It's more like a tree. I got it home, repotted it, watered it, and this morning it's all wilted. I killed it already! Then I read that each bloom only lasts a day (no I didn't research before I bought). Thanks for your video. Liked and subscribed. Can't wait to learn more!

Sandra Arnold hi. So no worries. Hibiscus 🌺 are a very hardy, beautiful and grateful plant. Just water it and give it love. I too used to think 🤔 and was even told not to touch plants 🌱 cause I kill them. I now have 7ft hibiscus 🌺 and they are beautiful. So, keep up your hobbies and the hibiscus will reward you.

Thank you so much for the info! I have a bush in front of my porch that has survived two termite tentings, numerous "cold" snaps, droughts, root disruptions, painting, etc. and it just keeps growing. Every year, in mid to late November, it gets cut down almost bare. I do that so my porch Christmas decorations can be seen. Within a few weeks, it is growing out again. Right now, mid-May, I have a beautiful, healthy, bloom-busting bush. Now, I have to coax a couple of others that are just a few long skinny stems with beautiful flowers on the ends back into bushes. At least I now know that it isn't a coincidence that the front bush stays beautiful and full of blooms. (I always wondered.)

o used to grow tropical hibiscus when I was living in Singapore. When mine became infested with scale insects, I cut them right back to a stump. Sprayed everything and kept removing the leaves until I had sprayed about five times, first using a white oil spray (home-made, using 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, half a teaspoon of Dawn dish soap, in two liters of water.) then, a couple of days later, after allowing the insects to dry and die out, I gave the whole thing a rinse with the spray of a hose, then another spray using vinegar in water, to help dissolve the remains of any pest insect debris. After I was sure that all of the scale insects were gone, I fertilized them and by month three, you couldn’t even tell that they’d been cut back at all, let alone to a stump!

Your video was very helpful. I do have a question though. I have a 5 1/2 year old tropical hibiscus I bring inside every fall. It's so huge now (my not knowing when and how to prune) it's really too big for the area I need to place it in. It's mid-September, zone 7b. I really need to do a hard prune but don't want to kill it. What do you suggest?

I live in a cold winter climate area ie. Toronto Ontario. I want to bring my tropical hybiscus plants indoors for the winter i.e. in the garage and encourage the plants to become dormant. What do I need to do to achieve this and have healthy plants that are ready to transplant back into the garden in the Spring? Thanks Paul Tomlinson

My plants are kept outside where we average 10 to 15 inches of snow every year. They never grow out from last years growth so I cut them all the way back to the ground every September. They bloom prolifically in early August and are done by the 20th. of the three colors I have, the pinks are coming back less every year.

Do you have any recommendations for battling beetles? Last year, a swarm of Biblical proportions descended upon my hibiscus and mowed about 10 of them to the wood in just a couple of days. (They literally ignored every other thing in the yard), and insecticide didn't seem to phase them.
