Main canes, floral(sp?) canes... what's the difference. How to identify? Lateral is the only one I understand.

Primocanes are the new growth and sometimes look greener or brighter than the woody, brown, floricanes which are last year's growth. Floricanes fruit and then tend to die out. Some varieties of blackberry are Everbearing or Primocane varieties - meaning they also fruit on first-year canes. I hope this helps!

I have a question. I ordered a 3 pack of tripple crown blackberries from you guys about a year ago. They survived winter and i put them in a pot for a few months. I planted them a month ago and they are doing great, but I noticed they have brown and red spots on the leaves and some are turning bright yellow. Is this normal for this time of year? I am in zone 9. Do you think it is a disease or maybe nutrient deficiency or lack of acidity in the soil?

Hi! It is more common to see yellow coloring like that closer to fall. Most of the time, yellowing of the leaves is a watering issue. Is it possible they are getting too much water or too little? As blackberry plants grow, they need pruning for good air circulation since overcrowding can lead to issues as well.

Hello. I have a Chester Thornless blackberry. Next years canes are already 7 feet tall. Do i need to trim them??

Sure, sometimes they grow so much you need to trim them back a couple of times throughout the growing season! Just leave some of this years growth for next years berries.
