Hello Claudia and Serge, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇸 Thanks for the excellent pruning lesson. I received a Brown Turkey start last spring and I purchased 2 Chicago Cold Hardy Figs last March. They lost their leaves during the winter, but started leafing out last month. I just purchased 3 Marseilles Figs and I'm rooting them now. I am hoping to see my first fruit this year. Take care My Friend ❤Peggy❤

I have limited space in my backyard so I'm still growing in pots until I find a few varieties that I like enough to put into the ground. I have about (15) varieties in various stages of growth. My (2) White Marseilles had their first crop last summer. I learned a lot about pruning from you guys and passed this video on to my daughter. If I root prune my (2) Marseilles currently in 5 gallon pots and up pot will I sacrifice fruit production for this year?

We have two figs, one of which is taking over my world! I’m definitely going to be following your tips to regain control of it in the spring.

Yes!! Don't be afraid, they bounce back so quickly! We had about 45 fig trees at one point, we absolutely love them. People are always afraid of pruning them, but with practice you are going to get better and better. I am here to help if you have any questions. 💞

I'd be very interested to see how you guys propogate your figs. I'm going to check out those air pots. I wonder if I drill the heck out of a 5 gal pot? would the air pruning work do you think. Thanks a lot with a sub/likie

Hi I live in Canada, have 2 figs trees , when do I prune them? I keep in a vase and in the garage in the winter. Thank you

Hi friend, you always want to prune in late winter early spring. 🥰 Which figs do you have?

I’m not experts, don’t know I like to learn more I think by looking your videos I will Excellent videos you make. I’m afraid if I cut in winter the frost will get to it . Thank you

Hi. Me again. I just checked those pots and was shocked at the cost. I'll definitely be drilling the sides of the 5 gal buckets that I'm using. It just won't have the extra protrution around the holes. Thanks for the ideas, Guys.

I see all this work, maybe I am not right, but for me so hurtful to cut last one Fig, but I trust them, they do everything so right. Thanks for video.

It’s scary cutting them back as much as we did, but fig tree need to be cut hard so they get stronger and produce more fruit. 😀

Hi from the UK. I've moved into a house with a fog tree. But the looks of it it does the whole main trunk is snapped and it's rotted back spring has come and its now got about 8 4ft branches coming out in all directions. What do I do. Where it is can only really handle on trunk

You can cut those new shoots at the base and pot them up and those will root if you keep them moist and in a warm area. If don’t care about saving or propagating them, go ahead and select the one that’s the most upright and the strongest, and make that your leader. Feel free to send me a picture on Instagram if you have Instagram and I can help guide you a little bit better.

You said that you have a very good method to propagate figs. I was watching all your videos with figs and I can’t found it. Please let me know me know where I should look.

Hi hi! We had the video posted but something happened with the audio after posting that we tried to fix and it ended up being a mess. 😢 I completely forgot to change the title of this video, we WILL propagate a beautiful fig in the next two weeks that we will film the entire process.

i live in toronto canada, i am quite new to growing figs. i brought my fig trees out of my garage begining oif may. it is now a month later. i never trimmed my trees, did not know how and hoiw it was important. sfter watching this video, i wonder if it is too late to prune my trees. i do have an older one quite big in a container which i had bought from a daughter of an older man whopassed away last year. can i still prune this tree? it is begining of june and fairly sunny. no new figs only leaves on it. i am also learning about feeding the trees. thank you.

I'm sorry but once Sergei starting 'chopping' down your fig tree I TURNED THIS OFF. Not interested in THAT kind of pruning. Your style is much better.

Ohh really? That’s too bad the tree looks so beautiful now. It is shocking at first, but I know he knows what he’s doing. Our figs tree produces so many figs this last year, it was amazing. 🤩

"chipping then down" was very poor choice of words. also, your gasps each time he made a cut. His method is the best way to do it!
