Growth/trunk development Question: I have a few shimp's in development. Twisted up, in pond baskets (akadama & cacti+succulent mix) I've got the option to move them into a garden bed in spring. Would you recommend leaving them in the baskets or into the ground ? mainly concerned with watering retention (QLD)

If I could plant in the ground for at least a few years then I definitely would. I just not have the space.

Is it possible to get a shimpaku to back bud on leggy branches?

Nice job again dave I use your videos as a guide for when to do my own work on my trees from all your advice I’m building a good collection of junipers ..so is now the best time to start pruning and wiring my junipers or are you doing your trees now just for the show

Great to hear about building your collection. Autumn I found to be the best time to prune and style shimpaku as all there summer growth has completed and they slow down their growth. This means I can prune and shape ready for the next growing season.
