I'm jealous of your Greenhouse. Awesome. How fun. Are you sisters or good friends? I love your videos. It would be awesome if you grew a few outside in a typical outdoor garden *not growing up a string*. Then make a video next year. That way I could get a better idea "how to" in my typical poor woman's garden. The pepper video took me a cpl times to watch to grasp since mine are not on a string. Still very informative and actually one worth viewing. Thank you. God Bless You Tube (and people like you) for teaching me about gardening. I wished I would have watched & learned more from my Grandparents when they were alive. All my knowledge has been aquired via You Tube videos.

Spring Hill Farms yes it is. It’s kind of hard on me because I have herniated and bulging discs but I’ve lost 45 pounds since January and it has helped me be able to do more things and for longer. I like the fact that when you do the jobs in the garden, you know you’ve accomplished something and when you’re done for the day, you’re done. Unlike housework where you look around at all the tedious things that need doing and you don’t know where to begin and there is no end!!

Thank you so much. The string hooks are called tomahooks. They are very simple to use and very affordable. If you Google them, you can research all questions you may have about them. We also use tomato clips to secure the vines to the string. I hope this helps!🙂

This month I will be 59 year old/ born 1960 & have been growing cucumbers for over 40 years in a outside garden. I like planting them on outside of the tomatoes cage. I have never had any side vine or problem getting enough fruit. The coffee chaff compost is to blame for the great harvest. Still no side vine, you must have a new fango Hybrid cucumber.

@harrygatto4 жыл бұрын
Only allow the main stem of the plant to grow and remove all the "branches" as this the plant trying to spread out far and wide. In this video there is plenty of height available to do that but sometime you can leave one or two sideshoots if you have the space for the plant to spread. Be careful not to accidentally remove the flower shoots or small fruits. Cucumbers are very forgiving plants so will recover easily. Start new plants a month apart during the growing season so as not to get all your cucumbers at the same time.

Hello good job, question I have all these cucumber plants tied up with string if so are they tied at the base and then wrapped around the string?
@Growwiththelaplantes6 жыл бұрын
Hello, Thank you so much! When you start to tie your cucumbers, you want to start at the bottom under the strongest leaf and clip the string to the main stem of the plant with the tomato clips I show in the video.... be sure the tension isn't super tight but tight enough to hold in place, you will then clip about every foot or so, but again be sure to clip under a strong leaf to prevent the clip pulling up and clipping around your flower sets. once you have clipped up to the main overhead string wire, you will then start dropping and lean and loop as you will see in my other videos. I really hope this makes sense to you, but if not, please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I am going to do a more in depth video on this when we start transplanting our cucumbers which will hopefully be the first week in may, and we will walk everyone through each step. Thank you for your great question! Have a great weekend, Patti
