where does one get a kit like this?
@LordLeatherCraft Жыл бұрын
Depends on the country you live in. You can some items on AliExpress: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Ex5FNZt and a better punch pad on Etsy: tidd.ly/481X7pG

Where can I get these snap fasteners?

Hello 👋 to be honest I've bought my first kit on Amazon and was pretty happy about it. amzn.to/3wgAW0u Else you can find these in local craft stores near the fabric and zippers usually.

Would this work on a nylon belt ,ive got one of those old replica ww2 pistol belts with the eyelets, but the hook parts snapped off and need to secure it.
@LordLeatherCraft8 ай бұрын
Hello 😊 that's a good question, but unfortunately I think it wouldn't work, or not for long with this size of snap button. What you can try is higher size of button so the pressure on the nylon is spread.

what tools are used in this video and where can i get them? thanks!

Hello! You can find a kit there s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Eud7r1j or on Amazon with actual snap button included amzn.to/3Jd9gxb but check your local craft store first, sometimes they have these. 👌

I can see you dinted the snap button with the peening tool, what's the best way to avoid this?!
@LordLeatherCraft2 ай бұрын
@@HughWheelerDrums I'm not sure to understand what's dinted in this video 😅 If you meant that the cap part of the button is slightly made flat, it's due to the low quality of the holes I'm putting the cap in. It's an old video with a kit I bought on Amazon some years ago. Oka Factory, a japanese company, has a perfectly finished set for that. 👌
@HughWheelerDrums2 ай бұрын
@LordLeatherCraft when the top of the cap is seen in the video it has been dinted from the peening tool when it was set. Its not bad, its just not ideal. Are you doing anything differently now to avoid that?! A setting machine?! Thanks I've been setting it with the same tools, and can't avoid the dent unless I hammer very softly. It's a massive juggling act.
@LordLeatherCraft2 ай бұрын
@@HughWheelerDrums Oka Factory tools might help for that. My kit was old at the time of recording this video 😊
