Why would you want to save your hamburger fat? Well, aside from being a great fat to fry other foods in you can purify it to last longer on your self and also use it for beauty products including soap, lotions, and creams. In this video, I will show you how I save and purify the leftover fat from my ground beef. In the next video, I will show you how to turn our new purified tallow into a body butter cream!

What I like to use is cheese cloth or coffee filters in my strainer to try to make the fat as pure as possible and I pour it directly into a mason jar and then put the lid on so it seals well. Also remember to freeze it because it will last indefinitely if you do so.

You can use a lid to hold back the meat when pouring off the fat. That way you can get out as much fat as possible. Then you can let the grease coo, when it cools the tallow is formed across the top, and the liquid on the bottom can be discarded. Then you can heat the tallow.
