It took a few days to train Ethan how to climb onto my back. There was a lot of squatting, patting my own back to indicate that it was "time" for a piggy back ride, etc.
ALSO ***TIP*** TO LET ETHAN OUT OF THE CARRIER, I practiced several times on a soft bed, or safe couch! We did not start doing the "floor" release until recently, and after a lot of practice.
Make sure that you're always safe; follow the instructions in the manual. This is not the only way to get your baby in the carrier; this is just how we do it. I hope this was helpful for you!
