It's good to start in "C". But how does a "dumb" composer actually know what a C is? Why G, why am, why dm? Why not first find out what tuning it is, and then using the Circle of Fifths?

I’m going to be making an entire video on how to figure out the key of a melody! But yea you’re right of course, you do need to know what key something is in in order to match diatonic chords - just needs an entire video in and of itself! Practising/learning scales is essential.
