If you put the Fob in, turn it to position 2. push the brake and hold with your foot. then you can move the shifter. Don't forget, the steering wil be very STIFF, but workable, especially if you're coasting. If DEAD BATTERY, use jump box or jump from battery cables.

Guys in my GLC same instructions but it’s a press and hold not a double tap. And also don’t press all the way down. Just the first activation.

Where does it mention a dead battery? The title literally says 'WITHOUT ENGINE ON' in all capital letters. Can you read, or is that too much to ask?
