UPDATE JULY 22ND 2020 Well I made this video when I was 15 and now I'm 17. And I have to say this was a weird faze I was going through. The faze wasn't unhealthy because I wasn't really that obsessed with cassette tapes. FYI it kind of sucked using cassette tapes and recording music on them was a bitch because of the shitty recorder I had. I decided to up grade to CD's

im guessing that the record and the play buttons have to been pressed at the same time .

Some has what is called a “one touch recording “, meaning you only have to press the record button. The play button connected to it will depress also.

First thing you did wrong was plugging it into the MIC jack and not the AUX jack, which this particular recorder actually has, and though I could be wrong, might give you capability to actually record it in Stereo. On top of that, like some others have said, tape is much more sensitive to volume, probably want to cut the total volume back to 75 or even 50%.

QUESTION; can I use (USB-C to RCA cable) to transfer the music from my computer to boombox and record to cassette tape?
@vincentlamb34365 жыл бұрын
I dont think theres such a cable, unless you made your own.

I see a serious flaw of how you recorded that tape, it's important to dub the tape in real time, like turn up the volume in the more quieter parts and turn it down on the louder parts, it also depends on the cassette type and the recorder itself, there's 4 types of cassettes, but the one you probably used was a ferric type, which is known to be cheap but also for it's bad quality, the Walmart recorder is a terrible recorder, the last decent sounding recorders came out in the 90s and they are quite hard to get your hands on, however I do think this video is great for those who want a cheap and quick way to get music on cassette

Would I just talk in or to the recorder if I'm recording something spoken by me, not on video? I plan to take a script I'm writing and record it to a blank tape
@josep42594 жыл бұрын
I think you would actually use a mic and plug into the mic input....
@doe9de9954 жыл бұрын
Usually the recorders have built in mics but you can use another if you want i like to make audio diary's with my recorder

Really ? That’s it ? Can I use a beats cable instead of the black AUX one ?
@GAIUSJAKE5 жыл бұрын
Any aux cable will work they all do the same thing basically so you're good.

I bought a player/recorder on amazon that doesn't look like yours but more like a normal small cassette player, it says it records through a usb just as simple as what you did, but it just doesn't work! does it mean only recorders like yours can convert mp3 to tape?
I don't think it has to record. My dad had a Walkman (no recording function) and he said he used to put music on it from the computer.
@canadapainter6585 жыл бұрын
where does the aux jack goes in the computer? is the microphone or speaker?

I did this and it sounds horrible
@RedWolf777SG4 жыл бұрын
I agree. I try this myself and it just doesn't sound too good no matter what I did. the difference is clear as night and day. when you compare the sound quality of a prerecorded music cassette tape done by the factory. No, I'm afraid there's no easy or cheap way of doing this other than using a cassette deck and amplifier setup and whatever tech you need to make great sounding recorded audio cassette tapes.
@doe9de9954 жыл бұрын
Not trying to hate on you but if your looking for high audio quality go to CD or another form of digital the low auto quality and that hiss you get is all part of the experience and nostalgia if you don't like it the cassette is not for you
@RedWolf777SG4 жыл бұрын
@@doe9de995 And let's not forget the methods and know how's in getting the best audio quality out of a cassette tape. which they can just as good as vinyl records and some CDs. Just need to find the right cassette deck and other tech to do it.
@doe9de9954 жыл бұрын
@@RedWolf777SG the ability to give a cassete higher sound quality is amazing but if you don't like the hiss of one why even bother thats the best part of them there old technology even with high quality equipment and knowhow you can't completely fix the sound there will always be hiss wow and flutter dropout' s and so on of you want good sound I would not recommend a cassette
@doe9de9954 жыл бұрын
@@RedWolf777SG some things I should mention to are you are right thay can sound very good and I would recommend them just not to anyone looking for the best sound quality however everyone is different for me the poor sound quality dosent bother me I like it but that could just be because I grew up with a family with not much money in a small home and there for I'm used to the lower end products and maybe your different an you don't like the hiss if you like tapes tho keep on going and make them sound better guess
