I have never thought about sports goggles, I have always just sparred half blind

I tried without at first, and I didn't mind it so much, got used to it. But seeing the officials at tournaments was next to impossible, so I invested in the goggles.

Which is better, arwaza or Adidas?

I've never used either for sparring gear, but Arawaza is a very good brand. I love their uniforms. I'd probably personally go with them. But it really comes down to affordability and personal preference. If you have the opportunity to try them both on, see how they feel, that might help.

Do you wear a female groin guard or breast protector?

I never have. Neither. I have been kicked in the box and the chest more than once, but I've never considered wearing protection for either. I don't even care for the shin guards, and haven't worn them often. I prefer to be as limber and light on my feet as possible, and a lot of gear leaves me feeling sluggish.

First thing in the morning after breakfast lol. Men usually run to the bathroom to put that on before heading to their sparring division or class. Over the gi pants is not recommended.

I'm just here to confirm something about the gloves. i.e. the finger tips are meant to be in line with the outer edge. All this time, I'd been putting my fingers too far into the finger loops and holding it in a fist. Problem is, whenever I straighten my fingers, they extend well past the outer edge of the gloves. Today, learned the hard way why this is a bad idea, as I kept bumping and hurting my poor fingers when trying to block and deflect. 🥲

@@TheKarateShrimp Normally my hands would remain as fists. But during our class today, there was emphasis on blocking kicks with an arm sweeping movement, and my instinct was to do it open-handed. So yeah, it made me realise I should adjust how I use them.
